Growing tired of all the people whinging in forums, so I’m taking it into my own hands to give proper feedback rather than just complaints.

I’m extremely excited at the idea of base game lodges being used for particular maps’ species roster. Perhaps it’s possible more lodges could be introduced over time for the other reserves. Perhaps even allowing multiple of each species in different spots around the lodge + predetermined multimount platforms, just to give new players a taste of what the DLC lodges allow you to do. I’m also curious as to whether the gun rack to the right of the entrance is functional in any way. I’d love to see actual gun racks be added to future lodges. The skull meshes could also be reused for euro mounts in the future, using the skull as a base and simply applying a trophy’s rack onto that base mesh.

To be honest I’m extremely disappointed in this community for reacting so negatively towards free content designed with new players in mind. Is this how y’all are gonna react every time they drop minor content that’s slightly limiting but encourages new hunters to delve into weapon packs and other content? Why aren’t we showing EW that we want more of this. I know I speak for the majority when I say we would absolutely love a Saseka sized log cabin in this style. Why don’t we try a bit of that instead of whining how the small, free, base game lodge isn’t 100% customizable with several dozen plaques and platforms

That’s exactly my point. People are so caught up with shitting on this free lodge they don’t realize they’re basically showing EW “hey, we don’t like this. Change this so that it’s good” which will only drive EW away from doing more content like it in the future, lest they face another outrage from the community

That’s why I so heavily emphasize that the community shows EW what we would like the next time they make a free/paid lodge. That way, they receive the constructive criticism needed to improve but also get to see that we want more of this exact content (lodges)

I think if it came out before spring creek manor no one would be complaining. but we did 3 almost 4 years use to the other lodges so people instantly thought it was gonna be like them but smaller and then instantly met with reality. I think the expectation of it is what made it worse then it is rather then it itself.

I’m definitely curious now. Jaxy did say it functions mostly like the other lodges, so I don’t doubt there is the possibility of there being up to 5 of that lodge

Imagine if its like the loadouts where some are free but others you buy and that one lodge is free but you can buy another one for like 50 to 200k and each one progressively gets more freedom in it and everyone was complaining for no reason xD

I would if most class 3 animals didn't suck to grind. Chamois fun but not that easy to grind, blackbuck nighttime ew, axis deer early morning puma feed time, roe deer on hirsch eh and cuatro giant river and feral goats actually fun but I just use any 4 to 8 on them because they are tough.

And then of course lynx and bobcats don't always show up until last second ( though hopefully the next update fixes that)

Also the update all sounds awsom all round the only negative thing I can take from this but it depends on how this works is the new zero in thing some people have spent the points on that so I don't know how this will work. But we shall see..

Totally agree with the OP and I think you're on to something in regards to the effects of undeserved negative feedback on EW's willingness to hear us out in the first place.

I think certain loud voices are from people (possibly children/teenagers) with serious presumptions of over-privilege. One of the things that pisses me off is that people like Jaxy have to read these toxic statements while trying to present the free reserve as a gift to the community.

And the other thing is that it can potentially lead EW to not listening to us in the first place. Which is a problem because there are some unrelated issues that actually deserve attention.

On a real note I’m deeply looking forward to the lodge, looks Awsome, @humble quail oh for sure, can’t believe people are unhappy with getting what they’ve all been asking for.

Feedback doesn't HAVE to be positive, if people don't like an idea they're free to express it. Calling people 'entitled' for giving other ideas is ridiculous. Have ANY of you even bothered to read people's feedback or do y'all just immediately starting typing?
MY IDEA WAS to have a second version of this Lodge that IS paid DLC, so then there's 2 versions of it.

The solution to this is that EW does not make more free content, simple, so there will be no complaints and whoever wants new content and is satisfied with it must pay for get It.
There are always people asking for free content and when they release it this happens, remember the European rabbits?

I think this free lodge is great for New players. It will help them stay interested in the game without having to spend money at first . They can learn the game and progress to the paid lodges eventually. I just hope they come out with a paid lodge DLC that's massive that has alot of options.

And more on-topic hopefully, I'd like to say I disagree because the existence of the free mini-lodge does not exclude the possibility of a full scale lodge being added in the future.

Quite on the contrary, as mentioned by the OP of this thread, positive feedback for the mini-lodge may convince EW to make more in the same style. (IMO) 🤷‍♂️

I dont get this whole convo.. obviously there are ppl who like and some who dont like the lodge. I own all dlc's, play this game since Release, so whats wrong with saying i dont need this lodge and i am disapointed about this lodge. Just for the record, it took EW now several years to come up with a starter lodge.. thats a shame.. however i still think this lodge is a great Addition to the game since many of my friends wont play because they need to buy a lodge so now some of them might play this game. So all in all, for me disapointing, for new players awesome.

However making a thread just to make fun about ppl who are disapointed by this Update is a bit too much.

I don't think Oligator (OP) has singled out any individual in an attempt to make fun of them. Also if you feel targeted by his statement, maybe you're not actually who he was talking about?
There were several comments both on the stream and in Discord that were undeservingly negative towards this free content.
I think If they are allowed to criticize this content, then they should have thick enough skin to receive some criticism back. 🤷‍♂️

I think the problem is there's already too many forum threads for the Lodge. This and all the other new ones are unnecessary. Imo ALL Lodge ideas should go to one forum thread only as they are filling up the FeedBack Forums. (just as there's already too many 'we want Africa' forums)
Whether you agree or disagree with this new lodge ALL of these forums are too much. Repeated forums need to be deleted.

And another thing is for example Tomdogs Africa thread, it was not strictly the first one but certainly the most active and comprehensively written suggestion regarding Tanzania. That thread has a lot of meaningful comments within it that would get lost if you just deleted the thread and copied the OP into a megathread.

I will note that the posting guidelines could be more active in telling people to SEARCH for something before they post a new thread though.

This entire forum is pointing out the people who have been bashing the new lodge and entire update in general. I’ve straight up seen people say it’s a waste of a lodge, that the loadouts are dogshit, that the entire update is bullshit. Im pointing out those people who only choose to see the negative aspects because they didn’t get their perfect lodge DLC from a lodge for new players

I personally rarely read here, sometimes in the night time. But everytime i find overheated discussions about little Things.. i rarely even dare to write here because some ppl here are just always make something out of it. But that is an overall problem in the server.

To the lodge: i like and dislike it at the same time for reasons i wrote above.

Probably all i wanted to say is that the overall tone in this server has reached a point where it isnt fun to write and discuss anymore.

I've stated that I'm on both sides of this argument actually. But seems you've read over any ideas/critiques I've posted.

  • They should make a separate lodge for people willing to pay for a bigger, customizable one.
  • I stated that, if they keep only this one and not make a second one, then Yes, the idea is 'kinda a waste imo'. I could see how that's offensive but this free lodge is kind of 5 years late
  • It is understandable that they would make a free lodge limited
    (which has all been stated by other users)
    If stating some users are disappointed makes ME 'a problem user' than so be it lol

If you’d had looked a little further down the forum then you would’ve seen that I’m also a decent bit disappointed in this update too, I just wanted to reinforce the idea of stating these disappointments with the idea of helping EW

I like the lodge, and I like what they're trying to do.

And if I'm EW devs after that negativity I wouldn't give out a free Map/Lodge again.

I personally like the new free lodge, it seems like a nice little place to hang out. Considering that it's free, I don't think anyone should be complaining very much about it. That being said, I still definitely want to see a new bigger lodge added as DLC in the future.

I got to see the lodge for myself so, here is my feedback

Positives

  1. It looks like a place I could live in for sure
  2. The Trophy displays are nicely placed in the lodge

What could be changed/added

  • The Basement could easily support maybe one or 2 more spots that let you add whatever animal will fit and maybe one or 2 more spots for the smaller animals.

Regardless, I am happy with what we got so far, and I hope the next DLC lodge is just a bigger, more customizable version of

Yeah people should appreciate the free lodge because it’s a lot better than no free lodge, I personally love it

Now that we have the lodge i try to give some feedback. I stated before that i am dissapointed about that lodge and now that i can see it, well, that disapointment grew even stronger. Dont get me wrong here, this lodge is beautiful, very nice decorated, you can see how much love and time they put into it. Thats amazing. I dont even bother the limitations even so i think they are unnecessary.

However if this lodge is for new players to get them hooked into buying a dlc lodge then imagine the disapointment of having such a beautiful lodge and then pay for a lodge and realize they are absolutly not beautiful at all. No lovely Details, basically just big rooms with plates. The biggest headshake would be the tons of handgun plates in saseka while this game just have a very small amount of handguns available. Or the fact that on most plates in spring creek you cant place a reddeer because the plates are so close to the wall above that parts of the rack just glitch into the wall.

They really should give the paid lodges now some extra love too. Not just creating a new lodge but also rework the existing ones.

Also that new lodge cant be shown online and the dog doesnt even have a place in it. He is just doing oblivion npc stuff in a corner downstairs.

That new lodge is great for new players but beside of that, it has no practical use for me. I still think it is nice that (a few years later) new players can finally use a main game feature and tax and showcase some stuff.
