The Wheellock Carbine

Considered by many to be the first hunting rifle, the wheellock carbine was used by noblemen from the 16th century to the early 18th century for hunting and target shooting. My suggestion is to add it to the game as a way to honor those who came before and the weapon that changed hunting forever. That's right, this weapon is the great grandfather of all the rifles in the game. It all started with this beautiful weapon system. I know that there are already 2 muzzleloaders in the game but I the wheellock was known to be highly accurate and more reliable than even the flintlock.

It might not be everyone cup of tea but I love the idea of paying homage to the hunters from the past and getting to use the very weapon the changed the face of hunting forever.

I think this could go both ways. One being that people would like this and accept it. Or two that being that dislike it because the reloading would be even longer than the Hudzik rifle.

@pliant thistle I can agree with that. It's definitely a niche weapon. But I personally feel like it's longer reload time can definitely be helped via skills or perks. But I can see how that could be an issue for some. It definitely wouldn't be a GO grinding weapon lol

They also had breachloading versions of the wheellock carbine which would increase reload speed

They also had double barrel models as well. This one is also very ornate but it just to show what a double barrel wheellock carbine looks like. Which would make it the only double barrel muzzleloader in the game

If we did get a black powder weapon pack the Kalthoff repeater would be super cool. I believe they are fairly similar to wheellocks though.

100% for this, it feels even like this might already be in the works because of it’s iconicness (idk if that’s a word, hope you know what i mean). What else would be in a pack with a gun like this because we always get three guns

@edgy mesa I was thinking of a wheellock pistol and a Renaissance style hunting crossbow as the other weapons for a pack. I think it should be themed. Of course you can also do a wheelock, a flintlock, and either an additional archaic mechanism or pair a pistol with both. There are a lot of ways they could go about releasing it. I think it would be cool to have an outfit in the pack since we haven't had one since, I believe, Spain. If that's the case I think it should be hunting attire from Either France, Germany, or Britain spanning from the 16th century to the 17th Century.

And personally I'd love for them to find a way to add a hunting throwing spear to the game. But as cool as I think it would be it is very niche, then again so are these. I'm fascinated with hunting history.

Also since the most recent weapon pack was the worst and least uniqe yet, i’d say they have a lot to redeem themselves for and this could surely do that for them
