#Brown Hybrid Canada Geese

I would love if the rarity of the “Brown Hybrid” plumage type for Canada Geese got increased to rare or at least uncommon.

I think it’s based off of a leucistic (I might be wrong) so it makes no sense for it to be so common. I saw a flock of 7 geese with 4 of them Brown Hybrids the other day.

It has ruined hunting the Canada Goose for me, which was something I once loved, because of the extreme overspawning of the Brown Hybrids.
I just want most Canada Geese to look like a normal Canada Goose.

here’s an example

I would rather them not mess with the spawn rate of fur and plumage types anymore

understandable

jesus thats a lot

I have no idea why they arent changing that, same with the piebald ducks

topaz gorge
# polar palm Yeah they do be in fact leucistic

Then it immediately becomes even more puzzling why haven’t changed it, because a quick 30 second google search tells me that a leucistic canada goose is very rare in real life. The ducks agree on as well, I’ve seen many mallards in real life, but never one that looked different than the others.

Pie bald Mallards are pretty common in game as well but not so much in RL

Oh and brown hybrid mallards too
Those are also common for no reason lol

This sight just makes me sad, angry and frustrated at the same time. Who thought this would be a good idea, and why. Same goes for gold (fur) wildebeest, piebald mallards, cinnamon teals and harlequin ducks, black brown springbok, light brown merriam turkey, brown cape buffalo and maybe the grey puma. It breaks my heart to see EW just not care about this, it sure seems that way to me at least.

This is exactly how it is for me, at least half of all the geese are brown hybrid. I probably actually get more of them then normal geese tbh

You're quite right. We have hundreds of these in my area and they all look identical. I don't expect the game to be super realistic (nor do I want it to be) but 4 out of 7 does seem ridiculous.

I could be one of the few that will see it this way, but I definitely can see a good reason for why they made some of the “rare” fur types much more common. It helps add color and variety to the animals that we hunt. I understand that it’s not accurate 100% to real life, but if this game WAS 100% accurate to real life no one would play it. I’m in favor of some of the more visually tame fur variants being pretty common in game even if they rare in real life. It spices up the hunt and is exactly what many hunters and non-hunters are looking for in a hunting game, which is the reason this game has remained the most popular in the hunting genre for many years.

See the thing is tho brown hybrid wasn't a rare it was a true uncommon which made it fun to see from time to time and getting a diamond really neat gray was the next one up from it it was all honestly really perfect common uncommon common rare then the 3 rares

That’s a great compromise

What’s the point of the “bump”

topaz gorge

To get the post to the top of the recently active posts so that people see it. But I personally just bump my posts until EW acknowledges it.

If I’m Not Mistaken The Brown Hybrid Is Based Loosely On What Is Known As “Amber Leucistic” In Real Life.

I'm giving this is down vote but I'll explain why. Although the rate of uncommon fur types is higher than what you would normally expect, I'm okay with them as they are. I really like the open-world, super-realistic arcade style of this game and I think that's what makes it so successful. Everything about the hunting experience in this game is over the top and fantastical and that is what makes it so much fun. Plus, the uncommons make it possible to complete those Hunt Club 'rare fur' missions. 👍 😄

I think uncommon is best, it’s the same issue with the pie ducks that if you make them all rares they would be kinda pointless and bland since they used to be so common, example pie axis

topaz gorge
#

That makes sense. I would be happy to see them changed back to the exact rarity they used to have.

Where I live we have thousands of Canadian Geese around. I've never seen a single one that isn't the in game common here.

Yeah, I miss those days. They were much more fun to hunt too, in my opinion. Nowadays they rarely come within shotgun range. It’s a shame how hunting them was once one of my favorite things to do in this game, and now I never do it because it just isn’t fun anymore, for multiple reasons.

If this isn’t a part of the next update, then I am officially giving up all hope that it will ever be changed. It has been 3 years now, so I don’t have much hope that EW will do anything about it, ever.
Hopefully the cinnamon teal will have less piebalds when they get this remodel. That would be something at least.
