Also include sorting / filtering by reserve on this list as well

how many times have you wanted to keep track of how many animals of a certain type you have killed ? This is the easiest and most straight forward way to do it .....
The hunting Log is really not useful as it is past a few weeks. Giving us the ability to sort and filter it would make all that data so much more useful ....
Of course in addition to adding this feature they need to fix the hunting log. It's my understanding that there are some times omissions from the list ...
Be nice to have like for example
Laton then number of white tail that u have haunted and dates
And u sort trow all the thing u hunted on laton
Then move to next reserve.
How many gold's u have had on that reserve and all that info too
Instead of having to count your own kills on a GO grind, this feature does it for you
No more keeping counts in an external spreadsheet .... Why not let us sort and filter the data we already have? Get an instant count of what you killed when and where ....
One can only hope for this simple but useful idare to happen
Who knew something so simple could be so powerful ? Imaging being able to know how many moose you have killed with just a few settings of a filter? Show me how many moose I have killed on Layton lakes from Mar 1 to Mar 31...... The kill list is already there just set the filters and be amazed at how easy it could be.
Now I'm not saying it will be easy for the devs to implement. I would never say that .... But what a QOL improvement this would be ....
edited the OP to add filtering by reserve as well as date/time and animal type
Who really uses the hunting log to view anything but your most recent kills? Why? Why don't we really use it ? Because it's just a static list? You cant even really scroll it? We need a proper DB list control that we can scroll, sort and filter ....
Still I have no idea how many whitetail I have shot in my grind with this I maybe able to know how many and see the progress of it all.
We already have a kill list in the hunting log .... just make it function like a proper DB list object .... Should be filterable and sortable on column data ... Add a reserve column and throw in a count or tally after filtering .... Don't reinvent the wheel just make it work like a DB list should work .....

I would really adore to have a detailed codex, the more the better. How many lung shots I did? How many headshots? Which species I have hunted the most? The least? My favorite gun? How many blood trails did I examine...?
Its information that, while not being pretty important, it would be pretty nice to read.
More granular detail in kill data would be nice but keep in mind the with filtering, trying to filter with too many variables can lead to a cluttered and confusing interface. Right now the interface is just static, boring and not useful at all. ..... Adding limited filters at first like Species, Data/Time and Reserve would be a drastic improvement and then later it can be expand on if the community needs more info .....

Heck just add extract function and user can parse the data themselves in excel, access, goggle docs etc
That would be okay and would work for some ... it would definitely be better than what we have now but not ultimately the way it should be. We should not have to rely on outside tools to get information that should be available in game. And sorting / filtering are pretty basic UI elements.
However I don't have sufficient knowledge of the in house engine that is being used in COTW. So I will not say that sorting and filtering a list or string grid for them is something that is that is easy or trivial … But even still it should be added as a QOL feature ....

I agree both would be grand, I would love to be able to play with data outside system to measure my performance in different areas, as I do similar tasks for financial role at work, but agree not for everyone

The codex is really in a sad state ... even for 2017 standards ... It shows the bare minimum of information and has no user interactions .... Can we get a fix? .... Please !!!
Someone brought up a Codex UI rework during Jaxy's twitch stream yesterday. He mentioned that the team isn't happy with the codex sorting either, and that a rework is possible, but he did say that it would be "a huge undertaking"
Well I for one am never going to say that something is easy ... especially when it comes to a system that has been designed by a third party which is the situation with the Apex Game Engine developed by Avalanche Studios.
It seems that the engine itself which is essentially an operating System that sits on top of another operating system (such as Windows in that case of Win desktop and Xbox ) or (Orbis in the case of PlayStation )
Those respective operating systems have built in primitive functions that handle things like lists or string sorting but the Apex engine itself at it's design phase may have never decided to implement those primitives into the engine.
I see this same omission in the Angler which also doesn't seem to have those capabilities as well.... So the bottom line those things may have to be retrofitted into the Apex engine which would require the engine designers (avalanche Studios ) to make those changes .....
This is of course is just my own wild A$$ speculation ....
with so many G1 grinds going on in game we need to be able to keep track of kills more efficiently than relying on external spreadsheets .... If their are issues why you can't do this let us know ..... 164
