#add already existing animals on other maps?

So I know there are lots of these maps where the animals could be on more maps than they already are, so that way maps feel more full. It just feels like more animals should be in the reserve ecosystem than are in. I know they want each reserve be unique-ish but I kinda feel like the reserves shouldn't stand on what animals are there. Idk I could be totally wrong and would like you all opinions

They did some of that with the latest update: almost every existing map got another species added. If you see people mentioning "backfilling" the maps, that's what they're referring to. It was very popular and people immediately started asking for more of it. I liked it too, but I don't think they should necessarily go nuts with it.

First of all there are presumably engine limits on the number of individual animals on a map, meaning that eventually adding more species will result in fewer individuals of each. So while the ecosystem might feel properly diverse it could get to the point that deliberately finding any given species on a map could be frustrating. Personally I would probably have a higher tolerance for that than many others, but I understand it's something they've got to be mindful of.

I also think that to some degree the reserves should stand on what animals are there. I enjoy the different environments but I also enjoy the different hunting experiences. That's both in terms of maps having unique species and having different distributions of species Classes. That means needing some variation in your loadouts, and hunting on maps you might not otherwise bother with if you're after a certain species.

I made a suggestion on this forum a little while ago that the way to satisfy both camps (the folks that want a LOT more backfilling and those who'd prefer it to be limited) could potentially be to give everyone the ability to turn off species for their version of the map. So say they backfill Canada geese to NEM: I could roll with that, or I could decide three species of waterfowl is enough and turn off either the geese or one of the existing species of duck. I think it could potentially keep most folks happy, but honestly I have no idea how viable it would be to add that kind of system to the game.
