For users who don't own a Tobii EyeTracker but have some head tracking system, it could be very useful to have TrackIR/OpenTrack support.

The Tobii support in TheHunter is quite a complex system, but for head tracking I believe a simpler system could be used: just control a 'camera offset'. The mouse/controller would behave in the same way, but you would be able to 'offset' the camera angle to the sides while still walking forwards, but then resetting the offset (or temporarily disabling it in aim mode) for example. The hiding of the hunting HUD and dynamic exposure wouldn't be needed, which should simplify implementation.

I think it would be quite useful, hope others do too!

What possible use would this have?

More immersion and ease to look around while travelling

Some other games like Arma3 also have it and it's quite practical. It doesn't add more gameplay, it's more of a convenience than anything else

Seems more inconvenient than anything. Besides, the game engine is already very limited so I doubt it’s even possible to add such support

The game already supports Tobii eye tracking, which means that eye/head tracking is something the engine can handle and that the devs have seen as worthwhile. The request here is for a different method of tracking to be integrated. How viable TrackIR is for the game vs Tobii and whether the devs still see the value, I don't know. But clearly the basic idea of head tracking in the game isn't as outlandish as you seem to be portraying it.

I have Tobii, but only use it for aiming and higlighting purposes. The cam head turning makes me literally sick 🤢
