Blacktail Deers need some love. They were always the slighty more ugly whitetails, which is especially true now with the new whitetails.
Being an early TruRac, their racks are just bad. Long and spindly, sometimes with strange curves where a fork should have been. The pre-trurac BT in loading screens has a better rack than my recent diamond.

Furthermore, it would be the perfect opportunity to add (Sitka) Blacktails to Yukon (see also https://discord.com/channels/393040947006406657/1071647313929449593), a map in dire need of a proper class 4 ungulate.

As in it’s needs to resemble more like a smaller mule deer without the giant ears.

I personally think blacktail have the best diamond racks in the game and that have some great different variants in trurac

I think they need a bit of thickness and texture on the antlers, sometimes they really do look like dry twigs

Imo they definitely need a model rework and also need better looking diamond racks and darker antlers. Idk why but the big diamond rack g2/g3 just look so strange like they are not growing in right. The smaller antlers are good enough just need to be darker in color

I do understand a love for rare strange racks, and ofc you can tell yourself those bugged racks are like atypicals. Problem is, they're not rare. It's like the BT population of Layton suffers from decades of heavy inbreeding

Having both tiny antlers having a high difficulty level if it's a bug, it's extremely rare that they're the order of the day, that makes it a rare animal..
However, the different size poles are not and they are at the same time, since the Truracs system was released it was mentioned some times in the devstreams that it was possible that it could happen, very rarely, but that it was possible (Yes, in black tails it happens often due to the bug you mention), for example a colleague had shared in the Spanish speaking group a 9-Legendary red deer with a massive diamond antlers and the left similar to that of a 3-very easy, as far as I know it is the only one that exists..

Something that I have noticed in the Blacktails, through the screenshots they share, is that if it happens once it happens again several times indicating that it is a Save Game issue, I guess those who have a bug should submit the ticket to support attached to their save file for the bug to be analyzed, otherwise I don't think they will ever be able to find the bug due to the randomness of the Truracs

I hope this happens eventually. After this recent update and how great they made the fur Reworks for the Fallow it's hard to look at the Blacktail

@lost bramble I would agree. The Roosevelt would be my next pick as well. You don't have to grind to get a GO. I got one of my Moose GOs in 300 kills . It wasn't an initial spawn either. I had already found all my zones.

Yea BT are terrible. We have to remember tho that the games developed over seas. Just like the teams last "big adventure" where they all shot guns and bows and such and learned so much. They should send the entire team over to NA to actually hunt/chase the animals over hear. Would blow their minds how different the game is compared to RL animals so to speak.

I think the problem with the in game Blacktail is that the devs wanted to differentiate them from Whitetail in the antlers so they made them thinner and with less mass....

But Mass is not the issue ... Here is a pretty good visual representation

We have so many whitetail maps now as is.... IMO they should make Layton Blacktail only.

⏫ Do a whitetail model rework using the same base model for both species with the obvious difference seen in the picture above. ⏫

Make sure the truracs DB shows the same beam mass but more branching on the higher end points for blacktail.

Also notice the longer and flater tail on the whitetail vs the smaller tail on the blacktail ....

Lastly do a map rework of Layton using some of the new techniques they have learned since 2017 ....

These changes will make Layton the go to reserve for Blacktail deer ... this will also make the eastern whitetail maps more useful ....

EW, Blacktail needs some love. We need a rework bad for them. It's hard to look at them compared to the other amazing reworks you have done. I would love a G1 version as well. I would hunt them like crazy to get those trophies

Blacktail could use more rare fur types and non typical antlers. If Blacktail gets reworked, I hope we can get these things.

I feel the elk looks worse than this in game , but take a look at this photo. Blacktail need a rework bad.

Just go play Layton and hunt Blacktail and then go play one of the maps that have reworked animals. You won't even want to hunt Blacktail anymore. EW has done such a good job on reworks it makes Blacktail, and Roosevelt Elk look bad.

I think Hawaii would be a good map, decent amount of big game options, many good opportunities for a story, a completely new and unmatched landscape and the opportunity for around 20 gamebirds including blue peafowl, green pheasants, kalij pheasants and black francolin

Long overdue for sure. I really hope the next map has quite a few reworks with some quality new additions.
