Yukon valley is one of the most played on and favored by many players reserves in the game, and it absolutely needs animals such as Dall sheep, Sitka-blacktail and Elk added there along side the Northern lights all over the map's night sky to make it the ultimate Alaskan hunting experience.
Dear EW, please, consider this.
Thank you!!

Yeah three animals are really needed to be added to YV: Dall sheep, blacktail, and elk
Roosevelt Elk, specifically, should have been added in the very beginning…
I don't think Roosevelt Elk should be included on Yukon Valley. Elk have a very limited range in Alaska, they really only live on a few islands off the coast of mainland Alaska.
Dall Sheep and Sitka Blacktail Deer would be great additions to Yukon Valley though.
I would also like to recommend the addition of Willow Ptarmigan, because they have a wide range in Alaska and it would be really nice to have a species of upland game bird on Yukon Valley.
Yes
The same could be said for the Sitka Deer, but the Dall Sheep and Willow Ptarmigan I am in agreement with, and while we are at it I would like to suggest one of the native grouse species weather it be the Ruffed, the Sharp-tails or the Spruce Grouse
You're right, but Roosevelt elk have an even more limited range in Alaska than the Sitka Blacktail Deer. Sitka Blacktails are at least found in a few spots along the coast of mainland Alaska, while Elk are only found on a few of the islands off the coast.
Although I did some digging and it seems like Yukon Valley is meant to be in the interior of Alaska, so that definitely makes both Sitka Blacktails and Elk a bit of a stretch in terms of realism.
If we still want another big game animal on Yukon other than Dall Sheep, then Black Bears would be a good choice because they have a really extensive range in mainland Alaska. I think it would be interesting to hunt both Grizzly Bears and Black Bears on the same map.
Yes
2 bears on the same map
To have those two they would have to add another Alaska based on the coast
Yeah you're probably right
I understand that Yukon reserve is not on the coast but I would like to see Rosie Elk and or Black tail added ..... To explain why they are on the reserve just add a line of missions explaining that these animals have been introduced onto the reserve and they are thriving to the point where they can be hunted ....
They could add an Alaskan Coastal Reserve instead
sure there is definitely enough landmass in Alaska to support more that one reserve
Do an map on Kodiak island. That would be fun. Plus quite a few different biomes
Kodiak Island would be perfect, it is home to both Sitka Deer and Roosevelt’s Elk, it has the famous Kodiak Bears, mountain goats also call it home and it has a large variety of waterfowl that live there
I think Kodiak island would be a better fit. Because not only would have the black tail and elk but also be another Alaskan map plus the terrain would be a bit different.
maybe they would do a BT model rework at the same time .... that would be Awesome .... The 2017 BT model is starting to look it's age
What's the BT model?
blacktail
They remodeled the white tails when RC came out .... but blacktail model needs some serious love
Yeah. It needs to be sort of a mix like white tail and mule deer. The body size of white tail, the antler look more like mule deer and lastly. The body should look like a blend of both.
I hope that one day we will have a Kodiak Island reserve, we already have the Waterfowl Rework, but there is still a boat missing to be able to introduce the hunting of sea ducks to the game 😔
This would be a totally new environment for us to hunt willow ptarmigan,it would be so cool
They also could add rock ptarmigans as well plus other game birds https://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=smallgamehunting.sprucegrouse
I would like to give Revontuli atleast one unique ptarmigan and one added to Yukon, whichever one I don’t really care they both look incredible
Yukon can have the white tailed ptarmigan
I am from the area of Yukon Valley, and anybody who says there should be Roosevelt elk or sitka blacktail don't know what they're talking about. Both only live along the far southern coast, not the interior
I want to add Dall's Sheep, willow ptarmigan, black bear, and spruce grouse
Those are the exact same species I'd like to see added to Yukon Valley.
Maybe Wolverines as well
Then they would have to make a totally new species and that takes dev time
What I think Yukon is really missing is something that small class one animal jumps out at you and you have to shoot it before it’s gone so either Ptarmigans,Snowshoe Hare or Alaskan Hare
I feel Dall sheep wouldn’t be fun without mountains as well.
It's a game reserve, why couldn't elk be added to it. Yukon Valley absolutely would be improved with Elk and Black bears. Their range in actual Alaska shouldn't matter at all since this is a video game, and it's a game reserve that could specifically have Elk introduced to improve the range of animals.
Dall sheep and both the hare species are new as well
That was quite a bit ago was a bit ago…also massive oversight on my part
And honestly I probably meant towards those species as well,Really Describing what I’m talking about is a little hard for me,especially fleshing it out.
this as well as wolverine and maybe snowshoe hare would be perfect imo
I know I just didn’t care at the time
The last part is what’s important.
Okay, (they already have the models for the new species people mentioned on here so it probably won’t be to hard )
It’s a lot harder than it sounds.
True but that goes with anything
They also really don’t have the models.New Spirals would be needed and more variations of those spirals and the model of the current bighorn looks like shit so I’d hope they wouldn’t rip the bighorn model straight from srp.
There’s already hares, ptarmigans (upland birds)and sheep in the game, So yes they already have the models. The horns and fur color are pretty much the only thing you would need to change for the Dall sheep
There’s much more to it than slap a new color on these,Bighorn and Rock Ptarmigan,For example White-tailed ptarmigan are generally plumper than the others.Dall sheep would be much thinner at the end of the spirals and are generally More muscular and obviously furrier,as implied by my text.
What I’m saying is that EW uses the same model for different animals they just change some stuff here and there to make it look little different. Also why does this matter do you want new species added to the game or not
Yes,I’d love for these species to be added,I’ve pushed for these species to be added,One of the most recommended North American Animals The Dall Sheep,If it’s not near reallife. Why would I want an exact copy of a bighorn with such a horrible model, don’t even get me started on Bighorn on Rancho. It’s the same thing a lot of us were worried about after the steam screenshots of EC came out,we saw the Croc against the beautiful sunset and many of us were very worried it would be the same size as the gator, thankfully they aren’t it’s the same thing as Adding Dall sheep,It would be awful if they literally just made the bighorn model white.
I agree let’s just hope that if they ever add dall sheep that it doesn’t look like the bighorn especially the horns
This post has Canadian support 😂 EW make it happen especially if elk are the next GO please and thank ya
There are bighorn with horns like shown in game but I agree that not every bighorn looks like that
very few Bighorns look like the ones in game in terms of horn shape, and no Bighorn sheep in real life looks anything like the actual Bighorn models in the game
Oh i am agreeing with you a very small percentage have horns like that and the body proportions are way off the bodies in game look like a Ibex very low to the ground and thick when rams are still built but are like a Olympic athlete in terms of the goat family
Like, take a look at this. It's too fat, its neck is too short, the legs are too short and skinny, in terms of proportions it looks more like a domestic sheep than a Bighorn ram
Read above I just replied basically saying this
Rams in game need some L carnitine and 3 hours a day on the treadmill
Oh I know, I'm just trying to illustrate exactly what's wrong with them
They have the same body shape as ibex on Cuatro I swear to god
Out here shaped like a basset hound
oh yeah for sure
Why are the caribou in this game shaped like sausage links…
I think Alaska is a place that they should've taken their time making like they did for Australia and doing for the next map, but hey, I also believe they can go back and improve it step by step, doing the animal remodels, adding the northern lights, new animals and etc.
For sure gotta happen
Lots of good ideas in this thread. Yukon has a potential to be one of the best reserves in game but currently it feels outdated.
What I think would make the reserve a lot better
-Grizzly rework would be awesome. Grizzly bear hunting should feel like a challenge, not like hunting a big bear that behaves like a deer.
-Dall sheep!
-At least one ptarmigan species and one grouse species backfill! Reserve really needs upland species, now it feels too empty
-Northern lights is a good idea but daytime lightning also looks currently quite strange in Yukon. It looks most of time like it is nice hot summer day (it is autumn in the game..)and all of a sudden there is snow everywhere. Weather should be more cloudy and look like it is cold.
Here are my thoughts;
I absolutely agree that Dall Sheep would be perfect as a new species for the hilly areas of Yukon. The same goes for Wolverine, Canada Lynx, and Spruce Grouse.
I also agree that grizzlies shouldn't be as timid as they are in the game right now.
Sitka Deer and Elk aren't needed though. I say save that for a future Kodiak Island/Southern Alaska map.
Willow Ptarmigans and Black Bears are the only older species I feel would fit well as backfills. Obviously, black bear spawns should be seperate from grizzly spawns.
Maybe Northern Lights could work? It would be nice to see but I'm not a nighttime hunter.
I feel like you know how moose and red fox are found all around the map but most species in Yukon aren’t I feel like black bears should join them and be all around the map
