Spot the plains zebra traveling across the seemingly endless savannah, although watch your back, the spotted hyena won’t be too far behind. Find herds of sable antelope grazing on the foliage of the ecosystem among the mighty greater kudu. Hunt the populated watering holes of the territory, but watch where you step, the Nile Crocodile roams these parts. Make use of the Weatherby Mark V, a powerful hunting rifle suitable to make you the hunter, rather than the hunted.

• As for the striped hyena, they are one of the most pack centered animals on the planet. Work with that and make them attack and travel as such, similar to that of the gray wolves.

• Nile Crocodile - make it scary. This is one of the most frightening and dangerous animals on the African continent. Make them a much larger and more commonly aggressive version of the alligator.

• Hippopotamus - this doesn’t have to be too big of a new addition, they can work similar to the water buffalo. Similar sizes, and I know it’s complicated, but if possible, make them swim?

• Hippo, Hyena, Crocodile - More aggression, make them chase you more often than not.

• Weatherby Mark V - make it louder, 300 magnum volume?

I would move the Sable to class 6 and the Hyena to class 5. And I’m sure I told you before the Blesbok does not live in Tanzania, so something like the Lesser Kudu or one of the 2 gazelle species (Thomson’s or Grant’s Gazelle)

Crocodiles need to be properly designed from the ground up. Not just a copy paste of the American Alligator.

The gator is very simple in terms of game design and honestly I wouldn't mind if they reworked that too in the first place. It shouldn't just be a gator-shaped object parsed into a deer hunting sim (with all due respect).

To be more specific, the behavior should be more like that of a predator, not a skittish herbivore critter.
Make them attracted (chance) to dead bodies near the shore. Give them a (small) threat box so that they scare waterfowl in close proximity. And make them less sensitive to noise when under water.

The water in which these reptilians thrive can also be designed to look slightly better, since you end up looking at said water for extended periods of time when hunting them (compare to multiple similar discussions concerning TheAngler).

Consider adding a mud-slide track type, (where gators/crocs climb out of or slide into the water).

I hope the leopards will actually sunbathe on the bigger rocks in the environment, otherwise they'd be hard to hunt. A bait station for predators included with the map would be nice and realistic. Maybe one you can "refill" with an animal you recently harvested instead of buying a new station altogether?

I don't see how that could be OP since the Mississippi map has permanent "feed stations" for raccoons (trash cans).
But it'd have to be like a stationary hunting tower that you can build for 2100 hunt pesos imo. Not portable.

Hey, just a suggestion, but the olive baboon is also pretty common in the area and they could be an awesome and unique class 2 predator. something that adds a flair to the new map and could make for some awesome multi-mounts with leopards.

I would love for them to add this, the animal roster is great and the setting is very alluring. Eliminates the issue of sensitive species entirely while still adding something fresh. Gets my vote (and hopefully one day my wallet contents😉)

Giraffes are always going to be at a natural disadvantage when it comes to poaching and hunting in general because they’re a danger to themselves. One injury to the leg and it’s very likely they will die because of their inability to get food. All of their weight is pressed down on their weak legs, and it makes them targets for predators and poachers

EW said that they won’t put in anything endangered past the vulnerable stage. Which takes 90% of the giraffe subspecies list out of the question. We won’t know for sure unless they tell us directly but I doubt they’d add in that last subspecies that’s undergoing heavy conservation attempts

This was something I had made up a while back. The hunter cotw memes on insta put it together but it was my idea. I think I would add lion and hyenas but this is my idea for Tanzania. Personally I don’t want space taken up by the birds and other small game I never hunt for. When I think africa I think big dangerous game. Release a big bore pack with a .416 .458 and .500 nitro and you’d have yourself a party.

2 things about your idea I have to say. 1: EW already made it clear Elephants are a no go. 2: Black Wildebeest do not live in Tanzania, there is the Nyassa/Johnston’s Wildebeest which lives in Southern Tanzania and has a white marking across their face and the White-bearded Wildebeest from Northern Tanzania.

You would get cold weather clothes, instead of equipment you could get a snowmobile as a vehicle. Then have a weapons of a big game rifle, small game rifle, and then a shotgun or a bow. Then do the map

Sure many things can be done from buying tags that will only allow you to shoot a certain size or age of elephant. The tags can be expensive and only purchasable once a week or once a month. And you pay a hefty fine for shooting an unlicensed animal. And yes people who choose to mod will be able to circumvent all of these things but no one will be able to say that EW didnt handle the hunting of elephants with dignity and respect as it should be ....

Missions can be added to give those players who dont have a lot of money the opportunity to kill a trophy animal.

Maybe use hunt club to give tags away on special occasions... Lots of ideas ... lots can be done other than just turning the plyer base loose to kill elephants indiscriminately ....

Will some people still complain? ... yes they will but they aren't going to play COTW anyway and as long as EW can show they are taking the same steps that RL game wardens use to regulate the hunting of elephants then there should be no problem with it ....

Yeah I thought about that. Or have a real life in-game draw. Where you have people put their names in and they draw people for winners of the tags. The people that have previously won a tag can't participate again until a certain amount of time like a couple of months

Either they add in elephants and have em be hunted like any other animal in the game or don’t bother with new mechanics like tags and shit which just makes things complicated and tedious

If they’re gonna add tags for one animal, why not do it for every single animal at that point. There’s a lot to consider to with such an addition, far too many things which would just fuck up the gameplay by making it unnecessarily complicated. I say they just shouldn’t add elephants, period.

Even if it's 1/2 percent of proceeds. And if the story line or mechanics behind hunting these animals reflects RL responsible conservation then it will not be a problem.

As for me personally I don't care about hunting for elephants in mass. I would probably just buy one tag and wait until I found the trophy I want and then I'm done . If they had a mission where you had to put down a rouge bull that was terrorizing some local villages I would probably be content with doing that. The main reason I would like to see elephants in game is for the immersion. To me Africa is not Africa without seeing these Iconic animals roaming around.

Thais why I like the mission idea . When you start the mission it randomly spawns a trophy animal with random stats but it's not always at a certain time and a certain place. When the animal spawns and where it will spawn is random so you actually have to hunt for it. Once you find it and put it down then your elephant hunt is over.. You have a trophy for your lodge and that's it. You can still enjoy seeing elephants moving about in the environment ....

Okay so what about those players who say what if my mission doesn't spawn a max weight or the best trophy? I want to have bragging rights to say I have the best trophy the game will allow? For those players every so often maybe once or twice a year as an event they have an elephant trophy trade in to reset the mission that spawns a trophy. This can be done as a holiday event or to coincide with a new map release to build excitement over the new release. During this trophy trade in event you trade your current trophy in and the rouge elephant mission resets to randomly spawns another trophy animal with random stats and random location .... It may be better than your previous trophy or it could be worse .....

So something like this will eliminate the need to go out and indiscriminately kill elephants in order to spawn a diamond animal. You basically create a different mechanic to spawn these special animals .... And it will be fun to see if you can best your last attempt .... In addition if you see someone with more than one trophy elephant in their lodge then you know without a doubt they are modding ....

This is thing i dont get, ew knows we want another africa with more of the dangerous game like hippo and leopard alongside the cape buff and lion, but when jaxy said youd have the perfect game and no where else to go it made me wonder, why wouldnt you want to make the perfect game.

Jaxy actually mentioned the Big 5 and the talks of them maybe considering adding it, but the reason it will be the endgame map of cotw is as he said "If you know you can go hunt Elephants in Africa, who would want to go hunt Roe Deer in Hirshchfelden..." so that's why they think leaving it for the endgame is the best option.

@quartz grove I actually like NEM. It's a beautiful map. They need to change the bear hunting but it great except for that.

NEM is actually REALLY good for small game and waterfowl but kinda shit for big game and especially upland fowl (the things I like hunting the most) + the vegetation and trees are extremely thick in a lot of spots so it’s difficult to hunt outside of a few grassy patches and bodies of water around the map

those things are wicked looking. where i did volunteer work they had a mount of both a blue and black wildebeest. (not hybrid just both species seperate). while i do prefer blues the black wildebeest is so unique looking.
