I didn't get need zones other than what I'd run into when shooting stuff. Found both my diamond moose and my diamond black bear just randomly hunting other stuff. My diamond red deer I was actively searching for on Cuatro. Needed a diamond for the 6.5 quest line so figured I'd kill 2 birds with one stone. I just set up tents at the lakes that aren't by an outpost and then run around every lake during drink time killing every stag I'd see. Got an albino stag and my diamond within a week of trying for them.
I don't think actually having the need zones is required at all for diamonds.

Tried going to the lodge I mounted the caribou great one in, and it keeps crashing. Created another lodge tried to recover it to there, and it crashed too. Great one can't be anything other than a glitch, and probably isn't related. A red herring at best.

That's what he said initially is that the fabled and great ones are glitches. He said both are hints; however, one is of a duck and one is of 2 deer with a rabbit behind them and a moose head on the wall. Really it could be anywhere or anything still as nothing has been said concrete except that it's not on medved

If it is a rabbit then why do the fabled piebald whitetails have a different colour/texture versus the normal piebalds? How does the code get messed up that bad between whitetails and jackrabbits? Doesn't make sense in that regard. The darker tone of the fables says to me that the fur variant was intentionally made but them being on piebald whitetails was not.
