I still can't seem to find any information on this. Did the perk "Increased Confidence" change in the past few months? I see several guides recommending it for bow builds, but then talk about sights. Against bison upto 150 metres, I don't have any issues with the polymer round getting a single lung hit. However, the issue I have is you can only zero the rifle to 150 metres maximum as opposed to 300 metres found on most rifles. If that doesn't sound like much of an issue, then give it a whirl.

Hello, I am new to the game, had it for 3 days now. First day I was able to kill a few deer with one shot. Like it so much, I purchased all the DLC yesterday, but after that, I could barely kill deer. I shot one deer less than 30m from me, frontal shot, between shoulders and lower body, and I hit no organs, and got low bleed. This was not the only one, I had multiple yesterday that simply got low bleed. I have 15 years experience with shooting real life, but not hunting. What can I be doing wrong?

@last hemlock you need to use the proper ammo for each animal; you also need to hit a vital organ, in the game these are heart, lungs, liver and one or two more I don't remember

Save harvest let's you save few harvests which you can taxidermize later. Accept just gives you the rewards.

Mouth caller is used to call the turkeys in and crow caller used to make turkeys gobble so you can get their location.

So me and my friend have been having this problem on multiplayer where we get in a game with each other but one of us gets disconnected from the server. We have been having this problem for a few months now and any fix I could find didn't work. Both of our internet is in great condition and have not had any problems. We have played a lot of other multiplayer games with out a single connection problem or even having high ping. Any way I can fix this? (Repost because when I asked this a while ago I got no answer and me and my friend tried it again. If you decide to hunt to get a lot more cash, there is 3(4) rules that never fail.

prepair so you have guns/amo so you can shoot all size 1-9 during the hunt as in pick the right guns/bows
Shoot everything that moves, BUT never ever shoot more than 2 shot at any time on any animal ( obvious only if you have a clear shot )
Harvest every animal you shoot, even if you have to spend hours finding one, do so. ( rule 2 still apply wile you're tracking )

Make the hunt long and enjoy your self

I guess it depends. Like, I used to get hordes of deer on top of that one mountain in the nw, the one that has a lake, but after the pop reset, that area is dead for me. However, theres still tons of reds in the forests at the foot of that mountain, it could just be my map, idk.

The night vision is very good on Medved and Yukon when it snows. Animals can be seen easily. It can be distorted by fog in Layton, Vurhonga and Parque. When it gets foggy, it's best to use regular binocs

in the same folder where savegames are, there are several folders with names 0, 1, 2 I think; those are autosaves
backup the regular savegame and then try copying and pasting the content of one of these autosaves into the save folder

it might or might not work, but it's your only chance anyway

from now on, you may want to use regularly a small app that you'll find pinned on the steam forums, it backs up your savegames for you
do that often

I haven’t hunted geese, but I do this for ducks on land.

Spot the goose before you take the shot, and on the map it’ll show where you spotted it. Because it was spotted before t was shot, you’ll be able to put a marker on where you spotted it

@ivory wraith afaik both males and females of all species may come closer and vocalize
however, since males tend to be of higher levels, they usually are more reluctant to come
I've also seen males who call back several times but don't get attracted... so yeah, if I'm not wrong, calling back and being attracted are two different elements, and in fact there is some skill/s that affect the chance of animals calling back

That movement I've seen few times! And that is after I've spooked part of the herd and even tho rest of them are calm, they will turn to you when you call but then turn back and keep walking.

I played the new map a little. I liked the look of the zone, but the bison seemed a little too aggressive and a little too calm. Where they let me get too close, too easy. And then would charge me from across the map, making it even easier

Irmiz, I dont really think it matters since quick kill isnt a thing anymore, but PT's are for when you want deeper penetration. Use them when you're more confident about your shot placement. Soft points offer greater expansion, so you can be off-target by a little bit more without having to worry.

Cb-70 is the most powerful one but all bows do really well. So it's mostly personal preferences.

I found as soon as I progress in the missions of any reserve, I start to get missions as in "Harvest x amount of y deer in place z" That's often really tricky, you find a track and stalk the animal until it gets out of the border.. especially so when I went to Hirschfelden as my first reserve (I did hunt a bit there in the original Hunter game) and can't get a rattler caller.

How do you cope with that, just get the callers and ambush?
I really love stalking game and dropping them with the X-Bow as it doesn't spook other animals that easily.

there's plenty of fallow in the fields

get some needzones, stick to a covered spot in the area, use your callers

#

don't go after them, make them come to you

and would really recommend a rifle, a bow will make it much harder

Another point, is there a bow range somewhere? I found the range in Hirschfelden only got distances 50m, 100m and higher. I want to test out where to aim for 10, 20 etc.

What is it with bow vs rifle, some ppl write that bow/xbow inflicts higher bleeding?
IMO with some practice, 30-50m shots shouldn't be a big issue, so not all the animals around them should scatter.. no idea how hard a 250m shot with some of the advanced, high powered rifles are, but with the .243, I wouldn't try it.

Sometimes they spread out away from the marker a little bit. Never seen one 300m away from it though. Usually, I would say within 200m.

Zones are round areas usually and the icon is in the middle of the circle. So sometimes you can have animals feeding / drinking / resting at the edge of the circle and when you spot them, the zone icon is not where they actually are.

@Serb Unlock outposts, lookout points, and points of interests. Completing missions will also give you lots of xp and cash.

If you have any dlc with pistols, it's a lot easier. If not, just kill roe with the .357 until you unlock polymers, work your way up from there.

@woven bramble the way I levelled up my handgun skills was to use the .22 pistol on Hirsch shooting geese. I think I went from nothing to unlocking everything over the course of a weekend.

Does someone of you know, where all the Points of Interest/ Hunting Towers on Yukon Valley are? Or is there maybe a way to "clear" the entire Map so that the "grey Fog" is gone and so that i can see all the Points of Interest/ Hunting Towers? Because i've noticed that even if i had unlocked all Lookout Towers, that there are still some Points of Interest/ Hunting Towers out there but you just can't see them. If "dangerous reaction" is the mission where you have to travel to pitchblende pit, you have to put down all 3 trail cameras. I hope that helps you.

How do you guys hunt for wolves? I've found that at least for the iberian wolves night hunting at the lakes is terribly inconsistent. Often they arent even at their zones and even if they are theyre pretty hard to spot at night.

@vernal crater that is because there is so many animals that the COTW system couldn't put each tracks of every animal of the group (Probably for your viewing pleasure and mental health cause you would see white everywhere in a 30 wildebeest herd)
