CB-70 is the most powerful one. Bows max zeroing is 60m but you can use the 5-pin sight to get further shots.

I've shot 150m with the rangefinder sight tho

So that sight is the easiest to use

The lowest pin on 5-pin sight is around 100m so you can shoot 50m further with the rangefinder.

All the compounds are pretty similar. CB-70 has most power but they all take animals down effectively.

Then I think stalk hunting works the best. You spot animals and then silently approach them. If you have their caller, you can get to cover and call them in.

If they are in a need zone, you can stay around the zone after you kill one from the herd and hope they come back. Animals won't always come back to the zones anymore and if they are nervous, you can't call them in.

in cuatro colinas im doing the Packed Off mission where i need to spot 1 wolf zone in the colina rita area. i spotted a wolf sleeping which activated the wolf rest zone but the mission didnt proc at all. do i need to proc a zone with ground inspection intead of spotting?

So I killed a bear, I didn't have enough money to taxidermize as it costs 7,500 coins. I saved it for later so I can turn it into a trophy as it is my first kill(aside from beginning deer). If I go kill or save another aninal, will the option to turn my bear into a trophy disappear? I'm 400 coins short and I really want to trophy this guy.

I think that EW needs to take another look at the mountain goat coat. They don’t have the long coats they do irl, and it makes me sad that they look the way they do. it’s really a big issue, and idc if I get banned from this discord, it’s worth bringing it up

The "Packed Off" mission at Cuatro Colinas is driving me crazy; I have been all over the required area but can't find any wolf need zones at all. I've looked all around the lake at the top left section of the region, but there's nothing there.

Did a big oopsy with a friend on multiplayer. we accidentally overhunted a area and now it's bright pink and one of the need zones disappeared. is it gone forever? or can i hunt other spots and it'll come back?

Animals on that need zone will usually go to another zone outside of the hunting pressure. Hunting elsewhere will lower it in time too. But Keep eyes open in that area where those animals have gone. Sometimes they make new zone just outside of the pink not too far away.

That's the shotgun from the dlc. You can get all the shotguns color variations and equip them to different quickslots. This way you can switch from one to another while shooting. Gets the job done more effectively than reloading 😄

They will fly over and get attracted to your decoys. Use the caller when you hear / see them so you get them closer.

If they fly in V-shape, they haven't broke yet. Use caller and see if any will leave the V-shape. They will then come down to you.

Not too much for the geese since they fly around the map. You can see some guides on youtube but can't quarantee they'll work for you since everyones map is a bit different with spawns.

You can make multiple setups with tents around the map tho. This way you can check multiple spots fast if the one you're in now doens't work. But that gets expensive pretty fast 😄

Have anyone experienced something similar to the issue I am having? Like I setup my maps to hunt a specific species, with tents/tripods and such. I set to a drinking time, I go around to all spots which could range from anywhere 10 to 40 spots and then when I run out of time, I simply reset the time to start of drinking time again and repeat the process. This works wonderfully well the first 4-5 times, and after that it seems like the species I am hunting for is gone from the map for a long time before it's there again.

Mosin on weapon pack 2 is really versatile gun. Drilling rifle can cover basically all the animals since it's using two shotgun barrels and a rifle in same. 30-06 from pack 3 is one of the best weapons in the game pretty much.

I think there should be a customizable zeroing, like for bow max would be 60 and you could choose 3 ranges within 0-60. for riflrs max 300 or even 400 etc

Deleting zones doesnt do anything animals still show up there when the pressure is gone regardless of if they have a discovered zone or not

So I may have made an oopsie. I am doing a mission in Med Ved where I have find a poisoned lynx. I was almost at the area and I saw a Lynx, entered the area, and shot it as the lady said "Get me a photo!" Now the Lynx is dead, so photos don't count. Did I just break this mission, or is there a way I can salvage it? I was expecting a harvest request not a photo request D:

No, some animals go up to lvl 9 and some animals only go up to lvl 3

and then there is the Whitetails that only go up to lvl 3 but has a chance to spawn a lvl 10, the great one.

Yeah diamonds can take minutes upon weeks to get. It's all down to numbers

The more you kill, the more chance of a diamond you will find

#

Also to keep in mind, only males spawn males, female spawns females. So only kill bucks/stags/bulls etc

The only exception is gemsbok i think, that can also make diamonds at lvl 4

@rare pasture in ...\Documents\Avalanche Studios\COTW\Saves there should be a folder named with a bunch of numbers, copy everything inside that numbers folder and paste it into their numbers folder, remember to make a copy of everything before and put it on a safe place just in case something goes wrong, (you can quickly create a zip file of the Avalanche Studios folder).

If they don't have their numbers folder they should create a character to have the game create the folder with the numbers.

Now I'm not a dev and I don't really know how the saves work in this game so it may not work, maybe the hunter club beta could have problems with this but I don't know for sure since I've never tried this.

Couldnt figure out a fix in game (was in multiplayer and didnt want to leave unless necessary). Returning to main menu also did no fix it. Had to Exit to Desktop, and now I can jump.

@strong locust Nope! Pretty sure you just need to get two photos of individual blackbears. Usually it will specify. "Take 4 photos of 4 individual wolves in 4 separate photos" or "Take X photos of Y animal in one photo" The problem is the photo quests are either buggy or finicky. You have to be within like 25m for the photo to count.

If it doesn't say it makes noise on the noise meter you're good. also just a tip if you didn't know. setting up tree stands/those seats that are really high up. and tents make ALOT of noise so be carefull

honestly the best way to hunt yotes is to set up a tree stand at night and use that caller like no other and wait. there is no point chasing them cause their senses are so good

It should normally trigger once you get near the outpost

#

inb4 someone gets stuck on the mission called "a dangerous reaction" once the mission stops telling you what to do, make sure you pick up all three trail cameras near the mine, that should trigger it to complete.
For some reason it doesn't tell you to pick them up.

Okay I figured it out, I had to kill the bear that appeared and stayed in the area (Or so it seemed) after investigating the bear marks on the tree + following the human footsteps.. The mission advanced before I even harvested the bear, just shooting it seemed to do it.

I'm pretty sure that's all I did. Made sure to examine each footprint etc. I think the bearspray doesn't even matter since it like that one table near that one lookout point just seemed to trigger that Remi Warren voiceline bit.

But if it did matter I restarted my game (thus resetting the mission) and the order I did it in was phone -> tree -> footprints -> shoot the bear and before I even harvested it I got the next mission

@bitter sinew Harlequins are not attracted to the duck caller. The others, in theory, are. It will say so on the caller description in the inventory, or you can check the animal in the Codex and it will tell you.

@proud dome It depends on the time of day, if there is a need zone in the area (esp. one you have discovered), etc. If it doesn't seem to work, come back later in the day (or the night) and give it a try. Most are pretty good if you can work out what animals can be expected and when.

@solar ledge poly tip ammo is still better, soft point can hardly ever hit vitals for me. Scent eliminator isn’t that good. And yes, you lose a medal for using the wrong ammo.

@mortal vigil I tried to use i tbefore, but I kept missing everythign with iron sights. Never took the time to check it at the range or something since I didnt have any red dot I just assumed it was my lack of skill at using iron sights.

I kept using my rifle, unlocked the red dot, and decided to check it before going out to huint with it. I took aim at a specific place on an outpost and shot. Missed up and to the right. Ok maybe its the sight. I take the sight off, shoot with the iron sights, and now I'm missing UP but not to the right.

I take out my 22LR Rifle with a scope on it, ADS so I can see the cross, put my thumb on my monitor so I can remember where the centre of the screen is. ADS with the Red dot on the 22 Pistol and my thumb is completely covering the red dot, so the red dot is too far LEFT from centre, but it was lined up properly on the vertical axis.
