Nope, just checked and not possible.
Think it's hard-coded in so we must wait for the devs to change it.
Either a small oversight on their part when they wanted to make it possible to change ATV controls, or it's done for a reason (one unknown to me)

the first question is not very clear, there's no "vital trophy organ hit"
-vital organ hit means you need to hit a vital organ in order to get maximum medal
-trophy organ hit means you must not hit the trophy organ (head in most animals) in order to get max medal

Since the last update in my game when the character get the huntetrmate the framerate drops about 10-15 fps. I did some tests and even in low configuration and with all filters off the problem persist.

@lost hound What you have to do is first spot it with binoculars and then take a pic while its spotted. I learned that the hard way.

@peak hamlet polymer tip bullets are a lot better than soft point. Use binoculars frequently, they’re really useful. Unless you’re really good or unless you want to track something for hours, dont go after large game until you get a bigger gun. Don’t spam callers too much. Try to go near clearings and water frequently, that’s where the most animals are, and most importantly, DONT RIDE YOUR ATV UP A MOUNTAIN

Aiming with recurve is a bit different. The arrow will fly to the middle of your screen but there is no way to tell that when aiming since it doesn't have sights. So you need to figure out where your screens center is and try aim with that.

It takes a bit getting used to but once you figure it out, it's awesome bow!

Zones are where animals go at specific times during the day.

drinking zone (blue water icon)
feeding zone (green leaf icon)
rest zone (yellow “Z” icon)
When you find these zones (checking tracks or sighting an animal when it’s in that zone), marks it on your map. Try and tailor your hunts to the animals + need zones + time.

Maybe. U may be tracking for a while depending on the scenario. Your best bet is to go to watering holes early in the day (5am and on) and look for tracks and animals (make sure u spot them)

Goose chase? It’s hunting Man!! It’s part of the real life hunting experience! Animals aren’t always right where the need zone is. Sometimes they are 100 yards away, look in the surrounding areas.

Also- just bc u show up at a need zone doesn’t guarantee the animal/s will be hanging there waiting for u. U have to be quiet, check the wind (never downwind..) and sneak up and look around. As previously mentioned, look around the entire general area

#

Hunting pressure turns the map purple where u make a kill. If u continue hunting in that area, and making kills, the map will progressively get more purple/pink meaning animals will not go there at the need zone times. Once you start making kills at other locations, you create new pressure areas and the initial pressure zones slowly decrease and go back to normal.
Side note sometimes when the pressure relieves, need zones are no longer present (real life type scenario) and may have moved close by or not at all. The beauty of Hunting! Hope that helps! 🤙🏽

When it says fresh that’s a good time to slow down, but I tend to walk when it says fresh and and crouch and use my binoculars when it says just now

@torn obsidian also- if I am hunting more than one animal (think 2 or 3 bucks from a herd), and hit two, I will immediately go to the map and put a waypoint on one of them so I know where to start looking for a blood trail. If u spot one and zoom into your map, it shows a small icon of where u spotted it last- drop a point on it and go looking for the other one, then come back to your waypoint to look for blood

Look when theyre nervous or alert or alarmed theyre hyper easy to scare off. if theyre calm and the wind is not blowing toeards it stop running at 160m, stom walking at like 75.

Dont get discouraged, tracking animals is kinda tough. Best bet is to not even trail them but to catch them off guard.

they are all over really, but probably easiest to see on the far eastern side of the map. THey can be super-tough to spot once they get in the red foliage in the center

They are not good anymore, yea.

Lungs, liver, heart, neck are valid shots. Brain too but you can't mess up the skull so that's why it's not recommended.

@exotic folio decoys don't really work ( It's not like geese that fly over them and land regularly). Best way is to find spots where a lot of them are and shoot them from range with the .22lr, gimme a sec ill make a screenshot with 3 nice spots for you

it doesn't seem very likely because in that case you'll see very few animals when you probably most need to see them (in order to get engaged with the game): when you're starting and only have seen a couple of need zones (or none)

there are many, many factors that could take into account in a respawn system for this game, and I'd bet some (or many) of them only make sense with the goal to "trick" or even "deceive" the player for gameplay reasons

#

we probably would be surprised, amused or even disappointed if we knew it in detail

if you're 100% sure you didn't receive any points for 6 levels, something is definitely wrong

depends on where you hunt more. 30-06 shoots 4-8 Mosin 3-7 so if you love shooting spring buck and roes mosin... if you like moose and elk 30-06.

I use the 30-06 more but thats because I like hunting them elk and moose and it kills reds and other animals quicker. But if i dont have the 30-06 on me i use the Mosin so you really cant go wrong either way.

all guns give the same xp If you have no dlc the .270 works pretty good against deer

If you buy a weapon pack the m1 or 30-06 are both very good (Weapon pack 3, And smoking barrels) for killing a lot of animals quickly meaning the most xp

Animals usually go to the river to drink - that happens at specific times per animal

Moose for example will usually drink from 9:00 to 13:30

well, you have to go there at their drinking time and have to look. Once you spot (by pressing E) an animal that is drinking a need zone will be added to your map

these need zones are the spots where you will find them (as long as you dont destroy the need zone) at the respective times

#

and since they are added to your map you have no trouble finding them again

I don’t know ur golden secret areas also I will see the Blacktail walking around not at a zone although I’m hinting during the drinking times which doesnt make sense and I’m guessing that’s why I haven’t found most zones is cause I’ll just see the Blacktail walking around so I’ll go for them

FWIW, I have, over the years, bought all DLCs, and here are some points:
Weapon pack 1 has semi-auto .22. It's invaluable for rabbits and the occasional long shot on a waterfowl. I use it very frequently.
Weapon pack 2 has a Mosin that really broadens you're initial huntable species.

Weapon pack 3 is useless but fun. Hope I'm not stepping on any toes.

#

High tech has a nice bow sight, but I suggest using the regular sights first, so that's an easy way to save money.

#

The ATV pack is unavoidable. Necessary for the initial exploration.

#

Everything else adds in some small way, but that'll get you started and help you see if you enjoy it. I find every dlc to be worth it, but it's most worthwhile to add maps. It looks like the map coming out soon will be a heck of a lot of fun.

@sinful dock I know that was a bit off topic from your question, but maybe it clears up and other points. I doubt you'll regret the game or any of the DLC.

I killed the first deer that they start you off with, but my first real kill is a black bear! It attacked me once after I shot it, but I was so close to it that I hit a vital organ so it died right away. I'm pretty proud of my self.
