I have close to 300 hundred hours over 2 years building a shared world with a hub base, no world progression has been made. I still need to get the PC setup to host the world. The intention is to make Valheim more of a social game for people to jump in and out of and play together or alone. i have 5 islands that connect to the hub with the first 5 biomes on each island and the hub connects back to spawn and the vendors.
The idea behind this is for a playthrough that new players with low time commitments and experienced players that want to enjoy more of the exploration and building can play in a world together and work together, play alone, or just pop in to help. Most of the interaction is based off what everyone wants to do.
I have 2 hard rules, don't take things that don't respawn naturally from other peoples islands. trees, metal, and dungeons mainly and this only applies to the island you choose to start on. and 2 don't go into the Deep North so it spawns correctly when it is released.
The bosses are the only part of the world that has to be done together so we can keep everyone around the same power level and progression. Your ability to survive is the only restriction on entering later biomes, you won't have the boss drop for that biome so no exploits like using the chair to glitch through the crypt door. but if you want to walk around the swamp banging the hammer on the ground to try and find iron early you can.
I have 1 experienced player and 2 new players that i know in real life that are intrested. We are all on XBOX and plan on playing on XBOX, the PC will just be the server. if you are interested and want to see if the world is something you would like to try let me know. I would prefer that your typical playing time is around 4pm-8pm central time just so its easy to pick a day for the boss fights and we can all be on around the same time for the social aspect. I'd prefer to give a tour and talk through it to see if we get along before starting.
