I started and took over the mountain on the island just South West of the starter island (mountain surrounded by Meadow). The Mountain is small enough to conquer and build a mountain base, while over looking enough wood you'd need. Otherwise large first island with a lake.

Also Queen in north-east is on a tiny island and can be taken over easily for boss access.

Getting to Moder is gonna be a feat 😄 but map looks cool

Nah - Moder wasn't hard (straight left of Spawn), cross really short plains and jump straight up mountain.

I meant for the average Valheim player, it's an unusual moder location. You'd hope to find it around the inner ring where mountains start to appear
