Hoping to find a higher difficulty server, preferably with some of the common extra weapon, armor, and magic mods + qol mods. Examples include Therzie's, EpicLoot or Jewelheim, CLLC, smoothbrain skills, Backpacks, Quick Slots & Extended Player Inventory. New Bosses/Enemies from mods can be fun as long as it doesn't dilute the base game too heavily or cause oversaturation of zones. Watching Swamp drop to 5 fps due to all the custom junk can be hard to balance. Having a randomly generated seed keeps the game fresh but I think some extra exploration and risk with No Map, No Portal really makes it immersive. Would be open to Cartographer Table map only mod or something that limits map use as well.

I run two of these types of servers per year. They tend to last 6-8ish weeks. Believe last one finished around day 1200 due to difficulty. Reality is tho, it's a small group of players that truly like these types of games. There will be a lot that say they do, or think they do, but then they figure out that it's a bit much. We have a core group of 6, then try to add another 6 from this Discord, but usually end/finish with maybe 8. Last play through we had a few of the Viking mods, and it was like a quasi pvp thing. You literally had to hide at spawn stone and be careful to sneak out and pick up some branches, don't dare hit a tree and make any noise. haha....it was great, but it was BRUTAL. Anyway, we probably won't start another one for a couple months, but hopefully you can find something along these lines.

@desert sorrel Yes it takes a certain mindset to enjoy and finish such a playthrough, the last group I attempted it with they fell off around Moder. I've done high difficulty modded up to Ashlands and modded Deep North but would love to experience with a group in no map/no portal.

We do No Map, No Portal, Very Hard Combat and add Creature Loot and Level Control to make mobs up to 5 star. Then we edit that mod to increase odds of higher stars to increase with each Server stage. Last play through was also Hardcore, so that made it much slower. The Viking mods we added also added to the difficulty in a substantial way in Meadows and Black Forest. Seemed to taper off with Swamp. We also use a BiomeGate mod that makes it so nobody can pick up a stone or hit a tree in Biomes ahead of the current Biome. Was a slow slugfest, but was a blast, except when it sucked. haha

You can always mess around on a local game to see if it's fun and then upload it to a server if it is, which is the approach I would take myself for a mapless game.

It's a big investment, not just for the players but for the person running the server. It needs to be people you really click with for when it gets ugly.

To lean into what Felonious said about doing it twice a year and only half the players finishing, I would have an aneurysm if I tried to run more than two of those games a year.

What you're looking for definitely exists because I've run such games and Felonious has too but you want to approach it more like a marriage than a PUG if that makes sense

I'm sorry bud I'm not entirely tracking what you are trying to say here. I don't have an issue with anyone or any prior bad history with a server. I don't need to go test anything either in single player. I pretty much laid out what I'm looking for and am hoping to find a server with the aforementioned settings.

You offering to play a modless playthrough right now is like me offering Penutbutter and Jelly sandwhiches and you pulling up to my stand and asking to buy a Burger. Check another post for what you are looking for, this is not the right flavor for you.

Sounds like you had some bad playthroughs in your past, but what are putting here isn't exactly adding to the conversation or assisting in finding what I'm looking for. Hope you have a good day.

i wasn't suggesting a local solo game, i was suggesting a locally hosted multiplayer game to get a group formed

So I took the time to download and hop in, you still have a normal map and minimap.

Ladies and gents I'm looking for No Map for the exploration, difficulty, and longevity of a playthrough. Other than artificial weekly boss limits I can get through a server like the one posted above in a week.

I’d be down for a no map, no portal - modded or not - but would need a decently casual pace - I could keep up but busy life and just want something more relaxed while also challenging

Still looking for a server, must have the following:

  1. No Map, or limited map like Cartographer Table only mod
  2. No Portals, or limited portals like the waypoint mod someone mentioned
  3. QOL mods at a minimum allowed, extra content/items/building mods preferred
