DISCORD

Roles within the discord server:
šŸ’œDeveloper: The people who create the game and manage Valheim’s community.
ā¤ļøļøModerator: Volunteer staff members who moderate the Discord and answer modmail.
šŸ’šHelper: Volunteer staff members who help players within their own knowledge about the game.
šŸ’›Server-booster: A default role within discord. They give a server more emotes. These users are not staff members.

How do I get in contact with a moderator?
If you need to talk to a moderator, do not send DM's to them, instead send a DM to ---> @delicate ruin

Why do I need to verify my phone number?
To protect our server and its community from bots and trolls we use the highest security level available which asks our users to verify their Discord accounts using their phone numbers. The numbers are verified with Discord, and not with us.

Do you ever read suggestions left by players?
Yes, we do read what’s written in the https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202312684364910612. Sometimes we will find useful ideas there, and sometimes we will find that players are thinking about the same things that we have already planned for the game.

I want to help with the official Valheim wiki. How do I gain access to the channel?
A: You send a message through @delicate ruin and state that you want to help as Wiki editor.

VALHEIM & IRON GATE

When will the next update come out?
There is no set date or time for this. Updates will be released when they’re ready!

Why are updates taking so long?
Due to the large number of players at Valheim’s release we had to prioritize bug fixing, balance and optimization issues. This meant that we couldn’t put all of our energy into Hearth & Home until later than expected, you can read more about that here: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/892970/view/3059613869759649545
In general, updates take a long time because we want them to be good and polished before we share them!

Where can I learn more about the game?
We have an additional FAQ on our official website: https://www.valheimgame.com/faq
We also have an official wiki, where you can read about resources, enemies, strategies and more: https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Valheim_Wiki

What does it mean that the game is in Early Access?
Early Access means that the game is not yet finished. A lot of things will be added, and a lot of things might change, sometimes several times over. We absolutely value player feedback and take that into account, but there is also no guarantee that every voice will be heard. You can read more about Early Access on our Steam page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/892970/Valheim/

GAME CONTENT

Will there ever be buildable caves in Valheim?
No. That is not a feature we as developers want in the game and it would also require a complete overhaul of the game engine.

Will new content be added to my world I currently are playing on?
New content such as tar pits, mountain caves and Mistlands in the future will not appear in areas that have been already generated. Areas are generated 300-500 meters from a player's location. Exploremap and resetmap has no effect.

Will there ever be official mod support?
We probably won’t have any official mod support, but it isn’t set in stone. Mod support is however not a high priority, so please take caution while downloading and using mods with Valheim.
You can read our official statement on mods on our website: https://valheim.com/news/regarding-mods

What biomes are in the game?
The currently active biomes, in order of boss progression except for the Ocean, are:
Meadows
Black Forest
Swamp
Mountain
Plains
Ocean
Mistlands
Ashlands

The biomes that will be developed in the future are:

Deep North

What will happen to my world when the game is updated?
We can’t know this 100%. The things you have already built should still remain, and ideally you will be able to keep playing on your existing world. However, it’s not certain that you will be able to access all of the new game content without starting a new world.
