Generally just better than before.
the cooler frozen forest
very comfortable map to play on, too
Kinda smaller but straightforward
this seems to have better coal placement unlike FF
needless to say, this is everything frozen forest needed
terrain isn't an eye sore anymore, it adapts the tunnel-like terrain without it being too narrow and is both visually and mechanically interesting
i agree on frozen forest having slightly easier waves, this is the second named sector and ive seen new players already struggle with the old map
the core placement looks dumb
theres like 3 core placements bro..
also play it before commenting like that
it is accepted already so no comment good job
this map takes away all the fun part of frozen forest and looks ugly too
Then you realize why the kids go to 175 instead of this sector due to wave 13 of old ff
Like what, you have to deal with 8 mace with only duo, no shit
This is why anyways
Plus, map description was unclear
Since it only said that you should cook combustion and make power for menders
well i didn't have any problems the first time playing it
and if it's a problem, can easily nerf the waves
atleast better than old goofyahh terrain

The sector is power deprived and this is an introductory sector. Arc existing is there to give players an idea that there are also energy based weaponry in the game, but not necessarily be at best when power demand is greater than the production (which are later being introduced in the game through unfavorable terrain to produce energy like Ruinous shores and salt flats)

the current terrain maybe an upgrade to the current one, but as an introductory sector, this is a bit overwhelming to look after. Wide open contact points are intimidating without prior knowledge of what do you expect to come over.
-
The current Frozen Forest layout makes up for what the available tech to use for defense (which are narrow long corridors with small pockets of ores) which is also happened to be complimenting short range turret as a defense turret.

coal distribution in the map needs a bit more of work since as it is currently, this is making the grinding process fairly slow since the conveyors available here are just regular ones.
Disclaimer: I can't open the file since it's made in BE, but just by looking at the preview and the way the campaign sector it supposed to be replaced, this map needs to put some consideration on leveraging the strengths of the items being introduced rather sacrificing it for map aesthetic. Not really a fan of wide front lines for such an early sector. It makes defending too costly for beginners.
One issue
New players are too skill issue to defend against like uhhh 6 mace at wave 13
And of course they dont read so hard like us
Whatever.
I'll return to buffing Jutland.
That's why I said it's costly. It's easy to blockade the area thicker while being underperforming in firepower if the terrain has a narrow point, that's the natural logic to take since the idea is to hold the enemy while the turrets are chipping them away. If you have a very wide frontline, this makes the waves very difficult to manage since enemies will just go to other routes (and possibly no defense setup)
what do you mean hail?
dont you know hail is unlocked AFTER craters
i mean i like how the old terrain looks
it's probably one of the best looking sector for me
You're not everyone
i know, i was talking about my personal experience
For me the map (and Craters) were way too hard where they were
Literally the maps I srruggled with most cuz I refused to cheese
Hence, rework, balancing out after mace buffs
I think that maybe the tutorials shoud expand into here. Like, tell about putting different ammo in turrets and teaching how to use electricity.
Making a nice logic tutorial takes a ton of time~~, I'll do it later~~
Tbh a logic tutorial explaining how factories work is kinda stupid but honestly I’ve seen people struggle with it
What’s a better sector than the one that introduces the first factory
I guess that varies between people.
I beat every sector up to Extraction Outpost on my first attempt.
So did I, I beat every single one first try on both planets except Basin due to its chokepoint issue
However FF n Craters by far I had the most defense tier to enemy scaling issues on
Honestly, I really like this landscape. Keep it up!
