Item art has been asked for forever, I would imagine that it has been started in some degree, so maybe start releasing any item arts you've currently created on a regular basis, maybe a few in every balance patch/new character patch. Similar to how you're changing some of the hero banners for characters, a few every 6 weeks. It would make it easier for people to put the new arts with current items in their mind and make an easier transition for everyone

I've also said this before as well and it's just been waved away with dismissal.
They have other priorities that are clearly far more important to them (even in areas that are similar, like spray art and as you mentioned the hero banner art), and so they're not going to bother until it's so dreadfully past it's due date that nobody is even going to care.
At best, they'll get a small round of applause and then they'll go "See, nobody cared that much about it - that's why we didn't do it sooner", when everyone who actually gave a shit is long gone.
I'm honestly surprised I'm still here. I really wanted to put the game down after feeling like I got ripped with the Kitty Witch Phase bundle.
