Objective: The proposal aims to create a comprehensive system that guides, teaches, and rewards new players during their initial hours in the game. The system will help them learn the basics, set clear objectives, and provide rewards to keep them engaged while it prepares them for the PVP matches7

Step 1: In-Depth Tutorial and Reward System

  • Predecessor need to offer an in-depth tutorial with multiple stages, providing a comprehensive understanding of the game mechanics.
  • Each completed tutorial will be rewarded to encourage players to progress through it. (explained more in detail on step 3)

Step 2: AI Matches with Difficulty Levels

  • Following the tutorial, players will engage in AI matches with varying difficulty levels, such as beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
  • The purpose is to allow players to practice and build confidence before they compete against other players.

Step 3: Guided Missions for New Players

  • Instead of forcing new players to go through all the tutorials and AI matches, the game will implement "missions" that provide a guided experience and encourage them to play the tutorial and AI matches.
  • The missions will have marked objectives that players must accomplish, and upon completion, they will receive rewards.
  • These rewards should be clearly displayed on the main page to incentivize participation. (it can be icons, emotes, a bit of plat to buy 1 basic skin (600), and any small reward like those)
  • Going through all the tutorials and all the AI matches will be rewarded with one high value reward, which should be 1 rare skin and if possible should add an extra value to it (my idea at the end of the post)

Step 4: Unlocking PvP

  • To unlock the PvP mode, players must complete the guided training, which includes finishing all tutorials and playing a set number of PvE games (e.g., 10 PvE games).
  • This ensures that players are adequately prepared before entering competitive matches.

Advanced Objective for Experienced Players (to skip tutorial)

  • For experienced players, an advanced objective will be available, bypassing the basic tutorial.
  • This objective could involve winning a PvE game on a challenging difficulty level (e.g., hard).
  • The difficulty level should be demanding enough to pose a challenge, necessitating a good grasp of game mechanics and strategies.
  • This also would be a good tool to detect smurfs/players with previous experience in mobas, if you have someone that the first that does is, go to the advanced tutorial, complete it with ease, and then he goes to PVP and stomp his games, would be more than obvious that person is an advanced player and could be avoided pairing him with more novice players

Conclusion: By implementing this proposal, the game will provide a more organized and friendly experience for new players. It will guide them through tutorials, AI matches, and guided missions, all while offering clear objectives and rewards. Experienced players will also have a challenging objective, so they can skip the guided tutorial if they prove that they have enough skill to jump into PVP matches, ensuring that everyone is appropriately engaged and prepared to enjoy the game fully.

Graphical example and final reward idea

To further enhance the engagement and sense of achievement for new players, I suggest offering a unique and coveted final reward that would be "more than just a skin": an evolved version of the default character skin. This evolved skin should be designed in a way that adds extra value to the original default skin, providing players with a tangible symbol of their progress and dedication within the game.

This has possible 2 versions, the complex one, which is too complex and unrealistically for current Predecessor, and the simple one that is really easy achievable and provides a similar effect.

The complex version of this idea would be having a base skin that progress and acquires improved parts of skin that you can use in-game, going through several stages until it achieves the final "improved skin". So the skin would be a special skin that can equip and unequip the different pieces.

The simplified version (and the one that I really propose for the game) would using Gadget's old skin as his default skin for the game, and then add Gadget's current skin (yellow battle armor) as his evolved skin and with some simple menu effects to give the player the feeling that By completing the tutorials, the appearance of the Gadget evolves until it reaches its evolved form.

Here bad edited image trying to show a representation of what I explained in this post:

You "unlock" each part until you get the skin, giving the player a greater sense of progress and satisfaction for unlocking each part

This can be done in many different ways and much more spectacular and interesting than my poorly done edit, this is just the base concept idea.
