does having a custom interp settings with snapshot+custon will override my mastercomfig??

snapshot_buffer=custom should set mastercomfig to not override your custom settings

#

Specifically these 2

  • cl_interp
  • cl_interp_ratio
#

Don't quote me, but the default settings are usually the best, and most settings shared in online guides are, for all intents, snake oil

iirc mastecoms has said that lower lerp is technically detrimental for spy

#

Kinda cool if it works well for you though
I don't play spy, so I wouldn't know
-# nor I would like to know

interp mitigates the imperfection of an internet connection.
Ideally you'd set it to minimum, but for anything hit-scan where accuracy is important, adding an extra tick of interp is often beneficial (30ms).

That said, Spy does get up close and personal with player's collision boxes, so using 15ms can be a trade off for slightly better collisions at the cost of hit-reg instability.

I also don't think back-stab condition checks are lag compensated (?), which plays a big role in fail-stabs, and the higher your latency the more noticeable they are. (interp would add to this)
Because of this, you shouldn't be using trick-stabs as examples of fail-stabs because this is when the back-stab condition checks will be the most desync'd.

(?) I need to double check this as I've only recently learned about it.
