#Ultra settings that create out-sized GPU utilization effects
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
you could try by moving your preset down one, using the high preset instead
since using the ultra preset isn't really necessary
it maxes out all settings it can, even if it doesn't make much of a visual difference
i believe that ultra kinda disables some optimizations from the game like force the lod to the maximum quality regardless the distance and basically with everything that it can
it would be great to be able to disambiguate between which settings do that vs like models
id like to get the most of the ultra settings but without the bonkers stuff
going to high did indeed improve things a bit
poking at this now
does characters=ultra also control model quality as indicated, or is that a typo?
the characters module controls the character model quality
reading:
characters=high: Enables smooth facial animations, enables eyes and teeth, enables eye movement and blinking, enables enhanced lip sync at a slightly increased range.
characters=ultra: Enables extra smooth facial animations, high quality models, enables eyes and teeth, enables eye movement and blinking, enables enhanced lip sync at all ranges.
Is there not a way to get high quality models at increased range but not ALL ranges?
@stable plume has leveled up! (4 ➜ 5)
not sure actually
hmm. overridding the gibs setting seems to disable gibs all together
how're you overriding the gibs setting?
gibs=high on the high preset package removed all gibs
@stable plume The presets are literally just a collection of module settings.
I know. I'm fiddling around with them now.
Disabling fullscreen optimizations massively helped my 1% lows on windows 11.
It might be a sacrilege but I enjoy the benefits of disabling multiplane overlay in windows. Nvidia has reg files on their support site to disable re-enable easily.
