#Consistently poor performance with/without mastercomfig on decent PC
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
*well you are using
higher settings which wouldn't
help with performance*
the constant stutter is abnormal though--could be related to the settings you're using or other things
yeah try using mastercomfig low as a test
also rename your overrides folder to overrides1 to prevent it from executing, ensuring that nothing in there's messing things up
what are your launch options btw?
-windowed shouldn't be needed but seems fine
also for the benchmark test--don't forget to take the test a few times and disregard the first result; the first result tends to have significantly higher variance compared to the other results
yeah take out the preset .vpk and rename the overrides folder to overrides1 or something to make sure it doesn't get executed for the test
could you go into a game and see how the stuttering is?
*Ain't it maintenance
Tuesday right now? Connection
just dropped lol*
i mean doesn't have to be a casual game
sure, as long as it's a full game and not like tr_walkway
goal is to be in a full or mostly-full server with as much action as possible to see how the stutters are, see if they're persisting or are gone etc
or to mimic the circumstances which had stutters beforehand
kk
unfortunately that might just be because that processor is 6 years old
you could try doing some of these: https://docs.comfig.app/latest/os/windows/
well CSS has less stuff, CS2 is more optimized, HL2DM also has less stuff
not sure what Nt is
modifying the page file size is what comes to mind but not sure about anything else
some other people on the threads have mentioned ISLC
although i don't think that does much for tf2
or really much in general
it might help a bit if you're under a high amount of memory pressure but i don't think it'll help that much
you can try it
