#Mastercomfig lowers fps considerably

Hi there!

i decided to try out mastercomfig and i have tried the following presets: Very low, low, medium low, medium, medium high and high. When i am not active in game the fps is very stable and floats around 90-120 ish maybe a bit higher maybe a bit lower, however, when i move a few meters outside of spawn and try to engage in some sort of combat or assistance (healing someone as medic) the fps just instantly drops to like 7-10 fps ish. The fps drop occurs in intervals one after another with maybe like 5-10 seconds apart from each other and the fps stays at around 5-10 fps for maybe 5-10 seconds rendering the game fairly unplayable during this period of time. My question is now, what can i do to fix this issue that i am having? i am fairly certain that i have installed the config the right way but i am not sure at this point.

here are my PC specs:
CPU: AMD-A87600
GPU: Radeon R7
RAM: 16 GB DDR 3
Monitor: some Benq 60 Hz monitor

i sincerely hope that i have described my issue that i am having as thoroughly as possible and i apologize beforehand if i haven't done so and i hope that i have listed my relevant PC-specs. Please let me know if i have missed some relevant information in the post. Hope everyone who reads this will have a nice friday/weekend ! 😄

When downloading a new preset you have to delete the other ones

#

You have high, medium-high, medium, and very-low.
But only high is being used.

should i just clear the folder and redownload?

sly marlin
#

yeah you can clear out the mastercomfig files and redownload

Did that and i am currently in a casual game on dustbowl and i just realised that my ping spikes up to 160 ish at the same time as the fps drop occurs

sly marlin
#

that ping spike is most likely a result of your game freezing

#

are you using a laptop?

radiant cobalt
#

Aah i see well that makes sense. No i am on a desktop pc

sly marlin
#

do you have a program that allows you to check the temperature of your CPU?

radiant cobalt
#

Yeah i have msi afterburner installed

sly marlin
#

could you open MSI afterburner and, while in game with these fps dips occurring, check to see what your CPU temperature is getting up to?

radiant cobalt
#

Ok i will try that

radiant cobalt
#

Ok so i tried to setup msi afterburner to check the temp in game and the temperature pretty much stays at 45-46°C and when the fps drop occurs the temperature only rises up a few degrees to around 47-49°C

sly marlin
#

CPU temps, right?

#

not GPU

radiant cobalt
#

Yes cpu temp

sly marlin
#

does MSI show max temps

#

or does it only show current temps

radiant cobalt
#

Msi only shows current temp

#

In game that is but outside it shows max temp

sly marlin
#

how much CPU is being used while in-game?

radiant cobalt
#

So before the fps drop the cpu usage is around 36% and when the fps drop occurs the cpu usge goes up to 40-58%

What's in your launch options?

#

Actually wait, what's your GPU usage?

radiant cobalt
#

When the fps drop takes place the GPU usage goes to 0% (weirdly enough) and right after the drop it goes up to 100% and the down to around 40-55%ish maybe so it fluctuates alot

Gpu temp is the same as cpu temp aswell
