you can tell that there's a slight performance drop from running the highest LoDs on a new gpu but it's not that big. I use r_lod 0 on my main pc to force the highest model quality but doing that on old Intel integrated graphics has a crazy loss in perf, but my HD 4000 laptop is already 12 years old so that makes sense

1. player models (and to a lesser extent, some animated weapons) are a special case because it determines what bones are computed.
2. some models have shadow LODs set up and you probably removed those. for things like players these are especially important.
3. i never said it wouldn't change performance, it's just tf2 has bigger problems and other bottlenecks, and this is such an unimportant change that's it not worth doing compared to the investigation that would have to be done.

• not actually a benefit to windows 7, just saying that it's at best comparable to 10/11 if you configure it right and/or make the right sacrifices and/or rely on the right workarounds

• or things that linux does even better than 7, and only a little bit of lip service why not just use linux then

Pretty sure there are specifically laws against leaking someone’s private information. Also there’s a lot they can do with that info that is also explicitly illegal in the US.

Even if it isn’t illegal you could absolutely be taken to civil court for doxxing someone. Which is arguably a bigger potential threat than most punishments the law actually bothers with.

I actually prefer running smg. It can kinda do crazy damage if you have solid tracking. I think it catches a lot of people off guard when you finally encounter someone who can laser beam you for a mag of it

Yeh honestly with scout pistol I tend to get kinda lazy with tracking. Like if someone is strafe spamming I just don’t bother with trying to micro track because pistol spread is usually the width of their strafe pattern anyway

personally, I've resorted to tap/burstfiring like I'm holding a CS weapon
I find it helps stop me from just spraying, especially if I have something like winger or pocket pistol

I only spray if it's like, a scoped 2fort sniper or if I have a player right in my face and I'm low on shots in my scattergun's clip

My aiming hot take is that I’ve started “spraying” with the scattergun against easy targets. For example, if I’m circle strafing a heavy, something I can do with 100% accuracy pretty reliably, I’ll just hold m1 to get the job done at the max possible rate.

Yeh I think the way you described the matador movement is what I referred to as circle strafing. Basically long strafe until you see their aim catch up to you, then switch direction. But instead of clicking to fire I’ve started holding m1.

I’ll do it for other easy shots like scoped snipers or people that don’t know I’m there.

It’s maybe like a 1% optimization in ttk. It’d actually be interesting to see how fast people’s manual max fire rate compares to actual max fire rate

Yeh. The idea is kinda to anticipate when they actually start hitting you so you take maybe 10 damage. It’s easier with heavies under 70ish ping.

the tf2 wiki says that the pistol fires at 0.15s between shots
minecraft pvpers go from anywhere from 15-30 cps, sometimes more
so like, 0.06s to 0.03s
but the pistol clip would empty so fast that the winger would be useless damage-wise and the pbpp would be somewhat obsolete (0.135s)

this would be the theoretical extent tho, some players will obviously be slower

so, the ramifications of this? You could be a sniper that took some minor splash damage and are at 90 HP, and some engie across the map could shred your health to zero with a pistol

Currently, even latest beta version of Steam works on Windows 7 because Steam uses Chromium 109. Chromium 110 broke Windows 7 support but with VxKex https://github.com/vxiiduu/VxKex you can run latest Chromium version which is 124 atm.

Like damage on burning targets would replenish your ammo, crits would ignite on damaging enemy.

I understand sacrificing ammo for fire but only times is with spies and i'm sure demoknight sword range is longer than the fire.

at which distance you cant exactly tell what minigun theyre holding (while youre being aimpunched by the afterburn)

it's just silly design for the sake of buffing one weapon

Is team fortress 2 going to replace every FPS game? All they need is bigger or unlimited map size....or...what if every room was dictated with their own coordinates and doors would work like...well like portals in portal but instead number the room's. Like w,x,y,z as the first one would indicate which room or world so it wouldn't be necessary to have bigger maps as it'd work like layers in an image but swap them out for which ever you need. Only issues is interaction between "portals" and having to remaking how collision works so you don't take double damage, so things go through portals and object limits to be upped.

If you could group entire sections of the map you could just cull it based on the w value i guess
