Im not a mesa expert, but it seems that they check the process name, which is the same for tf2 and hl2 (hl2_linux), which means its already enabled for tf2

there are no precision tools

its basically entirely based off of brush geometry you have to setup beforehand to be PERFECTLY aligned so that it sews together, or you can just say "fuck it" and have it clip through (valve does this a lot)

i see why they don't add newer branch shader features: compiling times
even on valve's HW the shader compiling times in source are extremely painfull
i tried doing a full engine shader rebuild and it almost took me a week to finish lol

its kinda hard to tell a lot of changes because the gametracking-tf2 repo doesn't store changes for some of the things anymore, but here's what I got
-Added startup background image
-(internal change) replaced localization string #GameType_Misc with #GameType_VSH
-Map stamps for VSH maps now say the map is a VSH map (rest of the maps added this update still say attack/defend because john valve is a very tired man and forgot)
-Selbyen strange prefix is now "Souvenir" instead of "Tourist-Trapped"
-Tiny rock strange prefix is now ACTUALLY "Tiny" instead of "Tiny Fists" (valve fucked this up last update)
-All the VSH maps now no longer have the "VSH" prefix when the map name is shown (except nucleus, which now has it as a suffix because its a variant)
-The menu photos for a lot of the new maps changed? not sure why or what got changed about them
-Main menu links to update and blog pages now are https instead of http (at least in the hud file, i think it did this behind the scenes already?)
-obligatory competitive medal additions

this bubble is much stronger than the base wrangler bubble and also makes the sentry resistant to sentry busters
but if a medic with canteen specialist uses a canteen on the engineer he does not get the bubble

honestly i enjoyed VSH a lot more now than i used to
it was surprisingly balanced too
i remembered how there'd always be those players who just were too good as hale and just would be impossible to kill
but in the new VSH that basically just doesn't happen
winrate was like 60/40 in favor of hale, and generally the health he had matched up percentage wise with the amount of players still alive
it often did come down to those clutch 1v1s
we'll see how that holds up once vsh pugs become popular

the badge panels and stuff aren't actually in the res file, its all done in code
and notably, the badges don't seem to have a parent
the rest of the hud, like the player names do, so they only show up if they're within the width and height of their parent element
so when a player name goes off "screen" by going too higher than the height of the parent, it gets hidden, but the casual medal, which is not parented to anything, just gets the position of the name and moves the casual medal accordingly
