I've attempted the game multiple times throughout the years but I can safely say my knowledge of the game is that of a learning AI

The champs I've been graced upon were mainly venomancer and warlock but I'm unsure if they are the ones that are my definitive choices

clinkz basically is a hero that attacks really fast

and has invisibility

he summons skeletons that dont move and attack enemy heroes

this patch they increased the amount of skeletons he spawns by a ton

the meta is still developing and since his rework it's not clear where he's played best, but they practice him as either a carry or a mid laner

What are roles in specific would there be in conjunction with lanes

well in dota commonly roles are referred by numbers 1-5

called positions

the lower your number is the higher is your farm priority

position 1 is the carry, belonging in the safe lane typically

position 2 is the mid laner

position 3 is the offlaner, belonging in the offlane

position 4 is the soft support, belonging in the offlane (tends to roam a lot)

position 5 is the hard support, tends to stick in the lane to help his carry a lot

though

for players that are starting out

this isnt very important but this is something youll hear being said around

to over simplify it for league player:

hard carry (safe lane)

ganker/nuker carry (mid)

tank (offlane)

roamer (soft support)

for starters you can just refer to 1 and 3 as the cores

and 4 and 5 are just supports

in low rank people love to think 4 is jungle

but jungle doesnt really exist as a role

typically after the laning stage is over and the carry can farm on their own they go to the jungle to farm neutrals

it isnt really worth it to jungle until 7:00

and its only good if nobody interrupts you

if your dedicated role is jungling from the start of the game

its really easy to disrupt everything you have

and basically you kinda become dead weight

its really not viable to jungle and hasnt been in a long time

although who knows maybe with this patch some weird sickos will come up with something

they always do

well another thing i should ask is the hotkeys and the instant you press the key or hold until you let go

i know league has quickcast on by default

so you can tweak this

i prefer to have quickcast off because i fidget with my keyboard too much

there are a ton of options and it will take a while for you to figure out what suits you best

there's also an option to hold rmb to move instead of clicking rmb over and over

so you can move like in league

you can move the minimap to the right, etc

simple but fun

his ult is literally just him resurrecting after dying

and he spawns skeletons that hit people

He has a totem of the dead I believe I read

It's just tombstone I'm stupid

undying is cool

he steals strength from enemies with his first skill

strength is an attribute that gives you max hp

so basically you take away your enemy's max hp and you give it to yourself temporarily

there are a lot of cool quirks

there's heroes that infinitely scale with every kill

some heroes straight up steal stats when they kill you

though not by much

youll have a lot of fun trying out all the heroes in the game

dazzle seems insane

i always wanted an inverse shadow wave and bad juju seems great now

really interesting spell now

though i feel like there wasnt anything wrong with old bad juju

when they split them into bad juju and good juju i just never played dazzle again

i still dont know what these spells did when they were split

so im glad that just bad juju is back and it's even more interesting now

i should play more support i kinda like it from time to time

me watching purge still create 5 heroes with reavers instead of spawning target dummies

inverse shadow wave seems like it might be good vs like

enemy melee illusion heroes

like naga or pl

you just inverse shadow wave and the ally being focused by pl gets healed for every individual bounce between the illusions

though maybe its a bit weak honestly

maybe if it was a seperate skill like unrefined fireblast

cuz for an aghanims scepter it feels like its a bit underwhelming

definitely not useless but it should be a bit stronger imo

placing it as a seperate ability might do the trick for it

dazzle has kinda bad int gain and just has less mana since they turned him universal

immediate 1k hp heal is nothing to scoff at

beastmaster boars have 750 hp at max level (1000 with lvl 20 talent)

and dominator creeps have a minimum max hp of 1000

so dagon io is legit against zoo

doesn't oneshot ancient creeps though

that and just instant 400 damage on a non-creep unit is just fine too

level 1 dagon deals 300 damage to most heroes and heals your tethered ally for 270

since io is likely to get a shard through tormentors

not too impactful

i have a weak spot for knight themed sets

some developments in the na and sa dpc

tsm and sr are always the two teams from na to qualify to majors

however with tsm losing to both sr and nouns, nouns has a chance to be 2nd place in the na dpc this tour, meaning they could qualify to a major if they only drop a series vs sr

something similar in sa, beastcoast and eg are always the two teams from sa to be top 2

eg is currently 5-0 and beastcoast is 4-1

on the last day of the sa tour bc will have to play against eg, should they lose, they might have to play tiebreakers for a spot in the major against thunder awaken

also in the sea dpc bleed (the icex3 team which went 2-5 last tour) is currently first place with 4-0

something weird just happened

yesterday i played a game, the enemy team second phase picks pl and my carry last picks medusa into pl, i was a bit mad about that but i kept playing

despite the early game lead, we did nothing about pl so we ultimately lost

as they were hitting our t4s with megas i just quit the game and waited til it ended

but somehow, the game didnt end, dota was still prompting me to either abandon or reconnect

so i decided to reconnect but it failed

i waited a minute, attempted to reconnect, failed, i restarted the game, reattempted reconnect, failed

by then 5 mins have gone by and i just quit dota for the day

just now i booted up the game and it was still prompting me to reconnect or abandon

reconnecting didnt do anything so i just abandoned to see what happens

nothing happened

well, i was out of the game but the recent played hero was drow and it didnt show any stats

as i understand it drow is the default/unassigned/whatever hero, because when you for example demo terrain, you spawn as drow

this appears when u play custom games or sometihng or when you abandon before picking a hero i think

ive triggered this before

thing is, i played as tidehunter that game, tide should be there, not drow

aand the game doesnt show up

in my recent matches

idk if they ddosed the game idk what happens when u do that anyways but i guess it means the game doesnt count

first time i ever saw anything like this, thats crazy

silly how in this game people are banned from playing official matches by valve

i tried all sorts of shit like boots > midas > treads > aghs

treads > witch blade > aghs

and those games went really slow i had little impact

then i just said fuck it

treads > aghs

and it works

cuz like

willow doesnt often win mid lane but she can be a great help at side lanes

you can get some good gold by ganking the side lanes

and by the time laning phase ends you will be at the very least half way to aghs already

the rest u can farm with more kills or by farming creep waves

you just need to be careful and take full advantage of shadow realm making you untargetable

after aghs i get linkens or blink

i get linkens before blink if theres some sort of lc
