Inspired by Solarlight's video.

I just bought a gaming mouse with a joystick accessible by the right thumb. I don't plan to have a complete flick stick setup due to the lack of precision of the joystick, but I want three of the cardinal directions to correspond to 90 degree turns. This way I can have lower sensitivity on my mouse while being able to pull off flicks quickly. Honestly, it's more of an experiment than anything, to see if I can get past my aiming plateau as Heavy.

If I bind the axes of the joystick to the arrow keys on the keyboard, how do I bind the arrow keys within TF2 to implement fast turns?
My current idea is to change the cl_yawspeed to a very high value and execute a +right or +left for the shortest unit of time possible, then undo it with -right or -left, set the cl_yawspeed back.

Questions:

  • Is there another command that just snaps me by an offset in degrees or some other angle unit? That would make this so much easier. Google revealed nothing.
  • Is there an "atomic time unit" for TF2 console commands executing in series? Since servers cannot implement wait and I want instant snapping anyways, I want to make sure this is even possible.
  • Let's say I can What does the argument for cl_yawspeed mean? How do I set it so, given that atomic time unit, the speed will be just enough to make an exact 90 degree or 180 degree turn?

Update: Testing Steam Input settings right now. If that doesn't work, then I'll move on to scripting.

Yeah I don't think it's possible without wait

Like you said

Scripting wise at least

I know for a fact there's no (non-cheat) command to snap to a camera angle
