If pawn takes, then knight takes is quite straightforward
Against the pawn moves(a6 or g6), Nf3 seems to be a good developing move
Why 3 .. g6 4 e5? Need more details.
There’s some logic. g6 is being played to then fianchetto black’s dark bishop. e5 blocks out that bishop
Ouch, that does look best! Ideas of Nf3, h3, Bg5 looks really good
@restive badge would you be willing to change from h3 to e5 as response to 3.. g6?
Yes that will be fine
going in now to change it.
This was due to responding to his plan of fianchettoing the bishop... e5 is a good response to that.
First draft:
Recommendations for our Move 4 responses to GothamChess's expected replies to 3 Nc3 from discussion and polling on Chess.com's Official discussion forum:
If GothamChess plays 3 .. dxe4, we play 4 Nxe4 capturing the pawn back and centralizing the knight.
If GothamChess plays 3 .. a6, we play 4 Nf3 which develops our king-side knight and controls the central squares. Nf3 is favored by a greater number of games in the Master Games database.
If GothamChess plays 3 .. g6, we play 4 Nf3 which develops our king-side knight and controls the central squares. Closely behind in our polls is 4 e5 (Recommended by Coach Dane), preparing to block the dark bishop expected to get fianchettoed at g7 and also hindering development of his king side knight.
Will monitor if e5 wins our polls
tbh, i'm not sure how likely it is that gotham would play g6. The other two moves are far more likely i think. (a6 or dxe4) but good to be prepared for it.
Yes. He’s never played that move
Looks good, let's post our first early edition.
