Forgive me if I'm wrong, but can't they just not take? 14. Bg6 f5 15. Nf7+ Rxf7 16. Bxf7 and you may be up an exchange, but they are still holding on. I feel a much better knockout blow would've been Rxf7. They can't take because then it would be a fork on the queen, and if they do anything else, you could either do Rxf8+ followed by a fork of the queen, or simply take the free bishop.
