I'm wondering whether it's feasible to make a wooden key organizer, something like this: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61kP2hFKBML._AC_SL1500_.jpg
Those seem to have an inner layer, presumably plastic the wood is laminated onto. I was thinking of making my own ply for this, maybe with a layer of fabric in between, but maybe just ply is sufficient.
Any thoughts, concerns, suggestions?

Oh, this is close to what I'm imagining: https://holz-fichtner.de/thumbnail/4e/d9/e9/1681591921/keyorganizer_kyor2ei_04_1500_hgweiss_1280x1280.jpg
When you say fabric in between you mean between the keys and the ply right?
between the plys for reinforcement
You want to put fabric between glued between layers of wood? Never heard of that before. In any case plywood would be more than strong enough. If I was doing this I would just cut the shape from solid wood then resaw it to have two even halves.
Cool project though. Gonna add this one to the list
there's reinforced plywood you can buy, OSB as well iirc
