We bought an old house and the previous owners built their kitchen countertops out of 2x4s and didn’t square the edges so now the countertop has ridges and furrows running the length of the counter. We do plan on doing an full kitchen remodel/renovation in the future but for now it’s just killing us not being able to clean the actual countertops without a vacuum or toothbrush.
I’ve had a couple ideas.
1 was to place some thin plywood over the top of the counter then lay Formica down on top of that.
2 was to take a router and plunge bit and sink it a half inch into the counter and flatten the counter out one pass at a time.
3 was another Formica solution, but to flatten it out with epoxy first instead of thin plywood.
This is one hundred percent going to be a little scabbed together but it’s driving the misses bonkers… any other idea’s or solutions would be appreciated.
