#Designing a helpful desk/shelf for a print press
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
this is the first item... i want to be able to use the top for cutting but also have a shelve where i can store thist hing (it's like 23x28" and 40lbs"
then i have this which is a booklet maker
it folds and staples paper into zines
its about 90lbs
and then i've got this
which is a paper jogger
this was my first concept
guillitine cutter on top with shelf... paper jogger has room to be on top too and then the booklet maker on bottom
problem is the booklet maker needs to have some height on it bc will be annoying to feed booklets on the floor
i saw these two designs which i thought could be a lot cooler
i dunnno just curious if this catches anyones eye / anyone has any ideas on how this could be cool
I think your recent experience with a french cleat suggests you're going to need a few intermediate projects before this one
this is my plan for framing it
does it need more cross supports?

i think you're a kill joy
and you're kind of rude
so please just ignore my posts
Happily
(thank you)
Im trying to reread this to take all of the info in and understand exactly what all you're wanting the desk/shelf to hold. Are you wanting all of the things youve listed for it to be able to hold or just like one of them? 130lbs in total is quite a lot for something of that small of size
sorry something just came one -- one sec
you're absolutely right abotu the weight
im just going to build a separate roller cart for the folder
^^ just gonna do that with a square top and notches
and put it on wheels
so max load like 40lbs plus storage on bottom
Ah alright. Should be good then
Also for the leggies I wanted to make them out of 1x3s
That’s a 10mm press insert or whatever it’s called
Crazy?
If your max anticipated load is 40 pounds, there is literally no way to underbuild this
