It's kind of a unique tool in that dremel tasks can stand apart from many others. I generally prefer a corded tool unless it's portability is important

What kind of woodworking?

I have a Dremel and I'm not sure I've ever used it for woodworking, but I occasionally use it for other things

what do you have currently for wood working and what do you need done?

#

I love my dremel, mine is corded, and it's a great multi purpose tool. That being said, I use mine for detail work and for working with various other materials.

i.e. if you need a cross cut or a rip cut, a dremel isn't the tool you want. Depends what you have already - I'd consider it a valuable although supplemental tool.

i used mine 2 days ago to do an engraving in a wooden sword, i have also used mine earlier to engrave copper, its a nice beginner tool, depending on the work you do, tables and stuff i could not imagine it will see much action, but smaller things like a chess board, swords, tools, and things of that size, it will be great, and if you are starting out woodworking, you will probably be short on chisels, the dremel will be able to fill that role, i bought my dremel at the start of the year, and it came with many sanding heads, drills, etc, i can recommend buying a bigger engraving bit, depending on the project
