ReManager Error when Installing Package | reMarkable | Page 1

I'm getting this error when installing packages in ReManager. Any ideas on why this might be? My computer has been struggling to load things in the browser (will require multiple refreshes before getting to a given page) but it has been off and on. I'm guessing that might be at play here? I sucessfully installed a couple packages though before I ran into this

When I run "curl.exe -I https://packages.vellum.delivery/armv7/APKINDEX.tar.gz" in powershell it finds the package fine

You should upload a support bundle in reManager

If your network is having issues, that would likely be related.

you could try disabling proxy mode in remanager which will let the tablet download everything directly

#

it defaults to on, since computers usually have better connectivity and rM's DNS resolvers like to crap out

I disabled ipv6 in network settings because i think that was impacting some of the loading issues and turning off proxy mode let the package install

I can't go to the site, it blocks my connection.

Strange, I didn't have a problem before.

I bought a new ( 🙂 2017 ) iMac, but that probably won't be the problem, right?

I changed this setting and it works now. But I don't understand it, I don't know how secure it is, etc... Before, something else was set there.

DNS was probably going through some filter system before?

1.1.1.1 is cloudflare, 8.8.8.8 is google

I bet your tablet has the same DNS as your computer that has a filter. Try proxy mode

Sorry, I'm not very knowledgeable about these things. But it's interesting that I didn't have the problem on my old 2011 iMac. And I'm on the same wifi at home.

Proxy stuff is more fragile than I’d like. It works by pre-loading the tablet’s on-disk cache with the packages.

I’ll have to do some more testing clearly

In the meantime, you could download the appload package on your computer, copy it to the tablet, and install it that way

Or see if vellum-hosts will install

#

Then vellum on the tablet will use the hardcoded DNS
