Idk why but paper/spigot by default has, I believe, absurdly low default entity-tracking-range for players. Idk what is exact current value set on survival server, but it does not seem to be much higher than default 48.

For those who doesn't know, tracking range is distance in around u where server sends updates on specific categories of entities (independent from chunks), so they will become visible on the client.

With current value it's hard to see and easy to loose of sight players around you, most importantly friends.

If you stay at center of main goblet ppl disappearing in about 2/3 ... 3/4 of radius of main goblet, it's so small it's can't even cover area of the goblet.

Few hours ago there was Soul event with lot of ppl precipitated, but just by staying in place it was easy to notice how ppl running around disappearing and appearing back suddenly. Some ppl actually got separated, may be small tracking range was one of the reasons for that. homucide

I don't see any downsides on this. Low range is only helpful at large events with too many players or in PvP, but both happens not so often, comparing to regular ||death stranding ozensmug|| gameplay in mia.

It also does not affect performance almost at all. Server just need to spend a lite bit more on serialization and packets.

When I play private regular mc with friends I usually put 512. May be its too high for MiA, but makes team navigation things much easier especially when using minimaps. habowide

After upcoming reset we are planning do dive with friends and I already feel that confusing situations where we are losing each other in literally few chunks. harold

We might increase it after reset because model engine improved rx a lot but that's not on current survival yet

Unless you mean there's a way to do it for players only

Yes, I am not talking about mobs. It feels like mobs AI detect players in distance less than entity tracking range, so I see no much problems with mobs.
