It does sound a lot better in terms of timing. Do you have any bus / master glue compression goin on? I ask because the drums seem to be sitting above everything else. At least the snare is. Seems to be a little too up front and loud compared to the more reverbed out guitars. Glueing together and turning them down in the mix will bring cohesion. But definitely a step in the right direction for sure.

The name reflects something I often feel, to just be able to escape the physical realm and float among the stars. and i throw aw bg-drums on drum bus

with "face melting drums" preset from wanasek

i also move the entire instrumental bus into a folder and use bg-mix to glue everything

and this also contributes to drum sound

I've stuck with my frankenkit setup, PIV toms, invasion cymbals and kick n snare from mm1 with oneshots and achieved a similar sound to mm2

Turn it down a bit, I promise you, it's not going to completely disappear

Your Sub sine wave is slamming the clipper/limiter and is consequently, fucking the WHOLE frequency spectrum

well, its the main issue. the kick is too long and roomy, add a gate. it also has an ugly reverberated sounding low end. the snare issnt hit hard enough, there is no room at all on the snare andyeah

basicly, its sending an audio signal to another track that hass a 100% wet effect on it

so just instead of having the reverb on the track

have it on a differnt track that way you can process the reverb and change the volume

im 16 and completely new to making music and literally just bought an audio interface yesterday looking at the stuff you guys have made makes me feel so embarrassed with what ive made and i was initially proud for my first attempt ever. I have like 0 music theory knowledge, ive always played guitar to learn songs and not make my own but i really want to make something im proud of. dont know what genre this sounds like, i was attempting post hardcore, sort of like a bridge into a breakdown. I know its trash, dont sugar coat it. And also what videos or guides should i use to get better?

On YouTube there’s a ton of free resources, URM Academy and Nail the Mix (they’re the same thing but different naming so search em both), frightbox recordings, spectre sound, and a few others that slip my mind atm are resources I used when learning

You don’t need music theory knowledge, lowk I don’t know shit about fuck except for what a minor scale and a major scale are

For the mix itself, the drums are buried under the guitars, lower the guitars a bit and the drums should come through clearer
