It's a trem
Hard to see bad lighting
I only just saw that 😄 . I just saw the cylinder peieces
Yea fine tuners.
No locking nut/ the new graphtec nut though which is strange
And it being a baritone.
Doesn't really seem very functional for long
and a 0 fret
Good wall decoration
People say locking tuners are just fine but it's BS I've had guitars setup like that they work and are solid but not the best.
I can't tell if it's a floating or 2 point should look at the specs.
Holy fuck
I mean nice trems I do like that style of trem setup but you do lose tuning stability
I just like locking tuners because it's quick to change out the strings
Yes only good thing about them.
I like the look of winded strings, why I didn't replace my strat tuners 😆
Fair
Thr new graphtec nuts for floating trems are super cool
Meet the future of guitar tuning – Graph Tech Guitar Labs introduces the Un-Lock Nut, transforming the way you use tremolo. Locking nuts have always been a necessary evil for guitarists with a locking tremolo system. Love them or hate them, they're essential – until now. The Un-Lock Nut revolutionizes tuning. Forget ab
Neat thing
I've never seen these. They sound cool but it looks pretty lame appearance wise...
I hate locking nuts, so anything looks better to me 🤣
You know what's the best? Headless
Nah, I think headstocks can look cool, until you knock them against against something by accident
It's just less shit to worry about get to put more effort into other stuff.
yea if I see a hardcore band get up on stage with headless guitars I know we ain’t moshing
They can look awesome just
What about the aristides 9 string headless?
if you get up there with a strandberg you better lay down some fuckin LTE riffs or better
With a kickass paint job and inlay work?
or stop wasting my time
if I see a hardcore band with a 9 string i will be one confused little rabbit that’s for damn sure
Headless guitars are baller
tbf if I see a deathcore band with a nine string they’re gonna have to work twice as hard to convince me
My next buy is gonna be a headless 8 string
As they should
Good
For me it's less stuff to worry about and can out more effort into a good paint job and inlay work
I was good a jazz on my 9 string that was it lmao.
Writing good metal riffs is hard af
lionheart had a cool fate themed headless
they also make the fuckin
LED nightmares for berried alive tho
Sign me up for "The fukin"
so swag points removed for that
Yess

My dad's arguing about the CEO shooting arrest being fake hehe
is that a guitar
I mean the whole situation is getting played like one
Yo, I got a real Marshall amp for Christmas 😆
Sweeet
So im typically a bassist buuuut
Cool guitar
That couch had me confused. I thought fish eye lens, but it doesn't look like that and my brain stopped working.
Didnt practice for weeks and now I feel guilty
As someone who also hasn't been practicing to well recently, I feel you... I pick up the guitar, start noodling, put guitar down, no actual practice has been achieved lol
Exactly
blaming the winter months (cause why blame myself jkjk)
My hands are terrible in winter. To practice I run them under hot water for a bit otherwise they're too stiff.
According to chat GPT its drop b
holyshit, same
I only practice e standard cause I am a poser
Nothing wrong with e standard. Almost all the classic thrash stuff is written in e standard
But playing around with drop tunings like drop d is so fun
(scared to tune it down, the anxiety of strings giving up you know)
drop d is what a lot of metalcore is played in
and drop c, naturally, but drop d is insanely popular too i noticed
and even tuning all stings down so you're in d standard can instantly make the guitar sound different (and you can then play gojira riffs)
lowest ive gone is drop g lol
Ngl I dont mind e-standard since I am at the very very very basic, so there is no need yet
(learning base chords-level)
the stuff i wanna play is usually in drop tuning so im almost never in e standard
Going to get a second guitar for drop tuning eventually
when I am a bit through the very basic though
No need to be scared, unless the strings are really old and worn, tuning down just a little bit (like drop d or d standard) will be fine. But you might not be able to get super low without strings getting to floppy because I assume the strings you're using for e standard are pretty light (because that's what's typically used for e standard).
regular slinky
gauges are what determines what you can tune right, like arent bigger gauges better for lower tunings
do correct me if im wrong
im still fresh to guitar myself
not planning on taking it very serious anytime soon until I feel like it
just fun and dumb stuff
If it's just dropping from e standard to drop d for example, a second guitar is unnecessary because you only change the tuning of 1 string (although, more guitars = more fun right?) but if you wanted one for e standard and one for drop b or lower then 2 guitars would be useful. Also useful if one of them has a floyd rose, because that would just be a pain everytime you go to change tunings.
https://www.justinguitar.com/classes/beginner-guitar-course-grade-one - need to run again through these videos because I am very sure my muscle memory left to Narnia
(I dont have any muscle memory to begin with lmao)
Yeah, drop d or d standard is as low as I'd go with those. I use a hybrid set on mine which has light unwound strings and slightly thicker wound strings which is great for drop tuning (10-52) and going to drop c still feels a little to floppy for me but is playable.
But low tunings isn't everything
Found a guitar that I wanted to get from my first adult-job-money to find out its nowhere available in this country
Messing around with AMP-sounds >>>>
Damn... If you can, I recommend going into a guitar store and trying before you buy when it comes to guitars and amps, etc. Sometimes a guitar can have great specs and seem like the dream machine but when it's in your hands and you play it, might not be as good as you hoped it would be (or sometimes it feels so good that it makes you seal the deal).
It just looks pretty
Which one is it?
by the time I am able to get a pretty one I hopefully am somehow a bit more capable
just a tiny bit
My best advice (as someone at intermediate level playing), is to just keep playing everyday. Even if it's just noodling and not proper practice, picking it up and playing stuff just keeps the fingers nimble and builds up a bit of muscle memory playing around with your major and minor scales.
Although it's best to have some proper practice, like if you play for an hour, make the first half hour proper practice (learning a song, chords, scales, etc) and the 2nd half can just be whatever (playing an easier song, noodling, etc).
Picking up chords goes fairly smooth (not easy, just a smooth learning curve), but when just trying to understand scales a LITTLE bit (like them to warm up) it feels like going back to math class
Fair. If you're not already when it comes to scales, Just learn the A minor pentatonic scale and the C major pentatonic scale... These 2 are relative scales so when you learn them, meaning that they use the same notes but one is a major scale and the other is a minor scale. Also these are the easiest scales to learn and the shapes (where your fingers go) can just be shifted up or down the fretboard to play in a different key.... I just think specifically A minor and C major are the best to start out because they're in the middle of the fretboard but as I said, shapes are the same.
You'll hear all this stuff about Dorian, Mixolydian, Blues, etc scales and modes but for starting out, major and minor pentatonic are your go to.
Also, Sorry for so much writing but I hope you find my advice at least somewhat useful.
Grand father and grandson
Such a strange looking guitar it's really cute
I love it
Very friedman-ish
Mmm yes
The Jackson or Gibson?
Jackson
Ah
Seeing a modernized old school body with the modern headstock is throwing me off haha.
Looks like it shreds really well.
It shreds amazing, way better than anything else ive played
I bet
I love songster
Okay I’m not even fucking around
I did a string change and they’re still all facing the same way
Yes it’s in tune
What in the fuck happened to your E string
We don’t talk about that
I’m not perfect at restringing:(
All good, i have done some awful jobs lol.
I just don't want that popping on you.
You should be fine. I also can't tell if it's isn't fucked or not.
So far it seems tight but it’s gone out of tune a lot :(
Did it wrap ontop instead of under?
I might just focus on 6 string riffs since I don’t like wasting string packs
Yeah
I tried pressing down but it didn’t quite catch
You can unwind it and wind it back.
Not the best but will be alot better
Gotta:
#1 Be very close to the tuning peg as long as you can.
#2 hold it down as long as you can well tuning up
I tried unwinding to fix it but it almost slipped out so it’s whatever
It only goes out of tune every 10-15 minutes so it’ll just be a little annoying until my next string change
@candid slate It’s not perfect but this was after only an hour of learning it
It’s from the song Bury the light from the game Dmc5
Is that a razor keyboard?
Nah, Steelseries
Must say you're good
Honestly, when I got it I had no knowledge of computer peripherals
Ggs
Fair haha
It looks like my razor keyboard my steelseries has smoother keys lol
But it’s good nonetheless, been several years since I bought it.
For sure, a good keyboard lasts a long ass time
unless you throw it across your room
Lol
how to make seem learning easy the unfair way :
Arpeggios from hell attempt lmao
i already cleaned it up a bit but i am too lazy to record
Sweet
Do jackson single cuts just not have a battery?
This a joke?
Batteries are for active pickups and preamps...
Specific circuits
What was up with that? Bad wiring?
My amp was just being funky for my guitar but not anything else
Interesting I thought that was just a normal thing because my experience with guitars has been Ibanez basses
Many new basses have an board preamps many basses don't have batteries either
Well good to know thank you
Does your other single cut have a battery?
Its not mine so I havent opened it up
Fair enough
I love to do that, didn't know others did it too
It's amazing
Have you ever done double pinch harmonic slides?
So pinch harmonic two strings at the same time and slide
Sounds like daft punk-ish
When i first was learning PH yea but I got no use for them so don't do them ever.
Speaking of harmonics:
What dah fuck
My thoughts exactly looking at that
I mean that's possible in a really annoying way
Use your picking hand to plat the 17th fret harmonic have your fretting hand over the 5th fret then play the 17th and use another finger to pluck the other string
I’m confused?
He’s confused
you sure that's not just to get the right sound in the tab software?
search on youtube how to play that song
someone prob will tell you how to do it
I figured it out, two different guitars the tab is scuffed
ESP
🤨
that bass isnt finished yet, its just a spec and wood selection and a placeholder
theyre trying to get sales going even when the specs arent done yet
Idk looks normal on the actual website
placeholder image kek
looks liek thomann is suffering from a technical skill issue
common german L
ikr
How do you find the balance between having a very nice riff, but also leaving enough room for other parts?
I have a pretty nice riff but I don't want to change it (too) much. But it's a bit busy
Leave space with the other instruments
Have that riff be a center point if you like it that much
What I do as a bassist & guitarist is simplify the riff, be it cut out notes or change them to one more commonly used in the riff
I bought the Tim Henson amp
God damn that tone is so warm but keeps the highs so well.
Sweet playing thats nice
I love this amp already lmao
It's on the brinstar lead preset, multivoicer on D# minor with the closed 7th chords. Using neck pickup
It's amazing, I'm assuming you are talking the NDSP amp...
I just didn't have a use for the effects besides messing around with.
Really really good tones though
I bought it because of the project that I'm working on, I need some goofy ass tones
Eb minor
The chords are so intriguing and you got some flavourful little noodles in between it's great.
Oh for sure
Can not go wrong with that plugin
It helps that it's set to a key signature and not just intervals
How music should be
Was trying to learn a song and i'm a bit confused by this part, do i have to hammer on from the fifth to the eight fret but at the same time hammer on the sixth freth and that pull off, 8th-6th-5th?
wouldnt that just be hammer on the 8th fret, then pull off to 6th and pull off to 5th?
I think you are right, i think i just overcomplicated it:)) thanks for the answer
isn’t that just a tapping part
@lethal fractal I did it
Changed the riff to have some more space, and it's even better now
Amazing
@lethal fractal got involuntary Doppelgänger to 75% speed
Sweet, full play through?
Yesss
Amazing
any recommendations for a cheap floorboard that works with neural dsp
i just wanna switch tones without moving my mouse and keyboard in songs
Time for you to learn midi automation
nope
so which one do u recommend cause im not spending 1k on a quad cortex
A midi controller
Thats what greed was talking about
I have one
wait i can use it for neural dsp?
and put it on the floor?
its an akai mpk mini
@lethal fractal
I wouldn't... You'd want a foot swith one so you can just program the pedals.
You probably could with that controller just I wouldn't want to be an organist and guitarist at the same.
Depends how many tones you are using... I also misread what greed said that's something a bit different, not my realm. I don't dabble in automation much...
But for just tones you can route them to a midi board and use it as a pedal board.
I've never done it plenty of YT videos and have friends who do it.
I know it's doable.
thanks
Not even
For my example go route them to pedals no?
You can automate everything of the plug-in to midi and let it ask work straight in the daw no midi controller needed
^
Yummy
Are you part of a band or make music or something, because if not you should be. Always playing so clean and precise.
I dont know any people that like the same stuff i do so i am not in a band but i am currently working on a song
Epic
If you go to concerts, you can often find people who play instruments/do vocals and if they're at the same concert as you, there's a decent chance they'll like that style of music.
Yeah i was at a concert yesterday and i heard a guy play drums after the concert and damn he was good
Who played at the concert?
Oh some local random bands lmao
I think a lot of talent is unfortunately not seen just from a lack of connections
Especially in a small(ish) scene like metal
Like he said, probably talking to people at concerts is the best approach
Oh yeah i made a lot of connections to people and i got some offers to play in bands but idk i wouldnt like to be playing black metal
I fucking feel u
Yeah i’d rather play music i actually like
hey guys, i have a question, im thinking abt buying a Captor x, and i noticed it has two xlr outputs, do i have to use both, or can i just use one and record in mono? cuz my focusrite only has one xlr input
Can you buy for me pls (:
Hell nah I already want like 5 of them (got all the designs in my head) I already will be screwed
Fair enough ):
One can only hope there's a millionaire somewhere on this server who will buy us all expensive guitars, but in the words of Aerosmith "Dream until the dream come trueeeee".
My dream guitar isnt even expensive, its just not easy to get here, I only need the best casino-player ever for that luck
I remember you saying you wanted this one a few days back... I will gladly donate my energy of manifestation to double your manifesting power for you to get that guitar in 2025
how bad my memory is
sorry
Don't be sorry you forgot saying something to a internet stranger 😄 .
Lol, even then you said you'll probably forget 😆
I'll see you back here in another week dreaming about that purple guitar (:
HAHA for real, just pure copium
I keep fighting the urge to buy a dingwall
Do it...
i hate being indecisive, rahhhhhhh
i cant decide between getting an actual cab, or a loadbox first
either the fractal x loadbox, or a harley benton 1x12
Flip a coin
@lethal fractal deleted the previous riff heres what i got so far
Well done that's awesome
Yeah now i need to smooth out the tranisitions and i’ll probably have the instrumental finished by the end of the week hopefully
Then i will write some lyrics with my friend
record vocals
send it to my other friend so he would mix it
and done
Transition sounds exactly like Involuntary Doppelgänger lmao
which one?
Can someone take a listen to what I'm working on?
Looking forward to that
Sure
Bet
Mmmmmmm
Supposed to be a doom ish style similar to Sabbath but like idk basic like walk
Potential
Kinda sounds like a korn intro
Like im waiting for the low tuned guitars and drums to kick in
Inspo comes from this mfer
Here give me a sec
Gonna do what I want for an intro small thing then main riff
I'm working with my phone
Broke boy lol
Plus working with a right hand guitar
Are you new to guitar?
Oh nice
It has potential
Needs drums maybe better quality and lyrics
Kinda thinking
Buildings they fall
Cracks in the sky
Idk ive never written any lyrics
ill write really brutal lyrics
I have they sucked
I'm intrigued
The very beginning
Is that the fella from Impending Annihilation
is that like
impending doom x infant annihilator
idk why that was my first thought lol
Yea
Oh yeah kinda ripped it off lmao
Ripping off song parts is fun
You sure did hahah
Yeah but tomorrow i will make some crucial changes that will make it sound better
but i will make a hardcore-ish breakdown
Nice
i have no idea what i can do instead of this neoclassical part but i will figure something out
but i am done for now
i will maybe change something later
making music is hard af ngl
That sounds cool but is it good to have those drums constantly clipping?
let me cook the drums will be fixed
it really is, especially alone
especially is when i cant play what i write lmao
This is always the hardest thing haha
But i got almost 3 minutes of the song
and now i am debating if i should add a one minute solo
3 minute solo
hell yeah
Gotta be at least half the song or else no nerd is gonna listen
goofy ahh callout @lethal fractal
Sweet
but how do i come out of a breakdown to another part of the song
I usaly just use pretty clean chords...
Use them for a bit then you can build back up into a chorus or something
Or you can build up to the solo
yeah i thought of that
Nice
Lead sound on the Nano cortex is great
I’m glad I’m getting more comfortable with lead playing
Man can we switch i need to get better at lead
When i play lead j tend to play the same note on different strings
i've gotten the hang of it more thanks to listening to a lot of brandon ellis solo's and rafael trujilo solo's
I'll have to check them out more.
you should
I should probably practice by just playing solos and not trying to play solos over tracks lmao
yes you should
😆
Lol i am shit at rhythm but better at lead
Go learn tbdm rhythm sections
Or some fear factory and meshuggah
Hell nah i cant play meshuggah for shit
i need to learn alternate picking and economy picking first
You downpick all your lead stuff?
Nah but i need to get better at it
it lacks a lot
Poured all my skillpoints into sweeping
Fair enough
Sweep picking is just bigger motion of alternating picking so just sweep pick a single string
i wished it worked like this🙏
Me too but the other way around lmao
nah sweeping is easier than fast alternate picking
Hell nah
If you are string skipping abunch then maybe
idk my alternate picking is pretty uneven
and i have some problems with starting on a upstroke
I just don't like how my sweeping sounds doesn't sound clean enough
Yea economy picking helps with this a lot
Setting up so you can work with downstrokes moren
but i dont have time to practice
i spent the whole day recording
Just ommit upstrokes and do hammer ons from nowhere
And yes, sweeping is easier than alternate picking everything with the right velocity
hell nah
You dont wanna be a god like Tosin?
Everyone has a different technique to playing fast stuff
some people do hammer-ons from nowhere and some pick everything
Weirdly enough I taught myself to alternate pick before I even knew what alternate picking was
me too it just came naturally
but if i want to play some complicated stuff i need to practice
@lethal fractal so thats what i got i need to fix the drums a bit and write another solo then re-record one riff and do vocals
getting really close tho
Hell ya, just turn down the drums and tiny bit and you are set
Yeah i know
i will give it some finishing touches
and i will send it to my friend to mix it
Nice
also for the intro i will rip off mozart’s 40th symphony lmao
Archspire type shit
Nice
Amps yo
it's amplifying
No
isn't that what they do tho
If that's what you want them to do
generally speaking yes
@lethal fractal tommorow i will finish instrumental
i only got some drum fills to do
spice up the bass a little and then re-record the solo and i am done
making a song in three days is not an easy task lmao
Hell ya, looking forward to the final mix
not very metalcore but this is from my wip demo ep
yoooo cool af
thx dude🙏
will you be adding some vocals?
yeah but i think ill leave this (intro/first chorus) without vocals and then introduce them second time around
@lethal fractal its really close to being done
Sounds really good
thanks man its my first song lmao
Nice! It's great for a first
I will def do some crabcore next lmao
Hell ya
Now play some rings of Saturn
Nah I have a skill issue 💀
We love down tuning a six string to A
This is the E standard an octave lower
(I need an 8 string guitar)
Nahhh
Something dummer to make me feel better please https://youtu.be/XqlZqazG6sQ?si=QgGtfJYJ_7woKGNj
This was record in D# by me similar to live show now but the track was taken from album #guitarcover #coversong #guitar #music
@mychemicalromance #guitar #coversong #guitarist #guitarplayer #electricguitar #yamaha #mychemicalromance mych#mcr #emo #pop #poppunk #punk #rock #rockstar
its worth it🙏
I am After The Burial
I need Jackson to just release this already
It will he a day one for me
Im hoping they release in white as well ngl
What kind of guitar do you have?
Jackson or Harley Benton?
Ibanez?
Looks like an Ibanez based on the logo and tip of the headstock
Yea it's an ibby
my dad got his first guitar today, but tomorrow he has to go on a work trip. While hes gone im gonna steal it and junt like theres no tomorrow
Hey yall quick question I don’t know where I can take this intro part and I’m asking for a lil bit of advice on what I could experiment with
This is sadly the best video and it’s just a sloppy performance
In the meantime I’m gonna just see if I can do a sleeping with sirens verse type thing
christmas came late
Assuming you're going for a metalcore sound, I think a slow clean verse would sound good after that followed by a pre-chorus/chorus
Will definitely try that out thanks
No problem, I understand how annoying it is not know how to finish an idea lol
i like something unexpected, maybe add something that surprise everyone?
I can’t really think of anything surprising that I can do
Tho I will take that into heavy consideration
maybe on post production? like adding cat sound?
My jackson 7 string finally arrived today 🔥🔥🔥
Sick
?
Our band actually has a cat in our logo
So it would kinda fit
And update I don’t have anything all I need is some way to transition to a verse😭
And still no luck
Like with anything for it
I'm think of a transition like the one in All That Remains - Six at 1:30
Kind of a pause and then a clean verse with slow drums
Fr, but it’s just gonna need sum new strings tho cuz most if not all stock guitar strings suck donkey ass
True
Dope
Weezer if they were good
I need some new thigh highs
Ragebaited laughs in colon three
Get weezer’d nerds
Fellas
My midterm for my guitar class is to play Tramp to a Chainsaw by Thy Art is Murder and I kind of got the hardest part down yesterday
Hell yeah
Sick
At the end of this month I will be performing on behalf of the music school, I will play the voice of the soul from death
I hope I don't fail
That’s so sick
Good luck with that, I hope I can play some kind of metal for my school next year
Thanks
My main problem is finding songs that don’t have ridiculously inappropriate lyrics lmao
just got my first 8 string, not the greatest its a harley benton but it should do the job for me
now you can play acacia strain
go with archspire pol
lol
hell yeah
That’s the second problem, all of the appropriate songs are hard as shit
Looks sick
Damn
Maybe suicide silence
you only live once
pretty positive message
Tell me later how you like it, I don't know whether it's worth buying or not.
Shred
Could someone help me figure out where to place the original track in my daw and which BPM (I think it's 125) for Slipknot - If Rain is what you want
I want to cover it but if I go by one section, the other doesn't feel like it lines up
Could be that you have the tempo off by 1 or 2 bpm
Or a tempo change could happen at some point, I don’t really know the song
Or maybe they’re not using a click track and human error either drags or rushes as the song progresses
one of my guesses is also that it's a fade in
or something
there are some pauses in between too
Currently geeking out over my tone on the Gojira X
it isnt even somthing super special i just love it
Any tips for a beginner guitarist?
Practice and play everything with a metronome
Learn your scales basic music theory...
Thanks
I second the metronome
When I started I skipped the metronome, now here I am. I may be able to technically play a bunch of highly technical riffs, but none of them 100% in time
Dont be like me
Dont half ass it
^^^
Anything you try to skip and make easy will come back and bite you in the ass threefold
Me too lmao I always practiced other instruments to a metronome but got lazy with guitar
It feels like a chore
And will be annoying
But it's invaluable, because if you cant play in time, you might just as well not be able to play at all
anyone able to help me out getting a decent tone, trying to cover let me burn and low tuning just sounds like a rumbling mess for me
for reference heres what its like now
Depends what gear you have...
i use a behringer umc202hd and guitar rig 7
Aristides guitars cooking
More money you spend on gear, better you get at guitar.
I feel obligated to add that this is a joke (but yes, some gear does really help)
Practice what u like
use credit cards to buy tons of gear
oh just saw guy above said the same thing. follow his advice spend more money
What if you're to dog shit to practice what you like.
Like me?
The things I would to do be able to play plini and intervals songs
Lot alone the tech death BS I love.
Practice fret progression and degression as well as string progression and degression
Fret progression and depression?
Is that how much you press down and what not?
Even as a bassist this helps alot, and another thing find a posture you find most comfortable playing in, just pick an open string until you find a good position
Just never heard it called that
No its scaling
So going up and down the frets as well as going up and down strings
So playing scales on single strings vs multiple strings?
Just not computing with me probably over thinking something lol
More like
Low E. 4 3 2 1
A. 1 2 3 4
D. 4 3 2 1
G. 1 2 3 4
B. 4 3 2 1
High E. 1 2 3 4
And then do the opposite going back to the low E
You’re low E is the closest to you and you High E is furthest
Its stupid bit makes sense kinda
That sorta shit ya... Then you can start doing like different strings same pattern i have sweep patterns like that from petrucci
Scales seem really stupid (im guilty of not learning them) but dont make the same mistake I made
Fuck the pentatonic scale but its a really good scale to know to help you navigate the fretboard
so far its great, trying to get a good tone but thats a software issue
aside from that i absolutely love it was definitely worth it
CAGED system is a must learn!
altough i'm not a fan of the caged system (here's why: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wua6KChS0o&t=69s) it does have some good things about it, that i explain in this video.
Watch the Free 30-minutes value-packed Modern Guitar Masterclass:
https://www.learnmodernguitar.com/free-webinar-opt-in-guitaristsgap
Get your free Modern Guitar Toolkit:...
I'm not a fan of the caged system really don't like it
It's a good foundation but has its limits
I just use power chords, much easier than caged
I don't think I've played a power chord in a few months
Then you need to play more powerful songs lol :p
Probably
yeah, agreed with all of you,
the most important things is, "it sounds good"
i need music
got a college interview and i need to play a song
idk what
help
preferably in e standard because we love the floyd rose
E Standard....now that's a tuning I havent heard in years
Some Jason Becker maybe?
maybe, anyspecific?
ill have a listen and get back
ok so im not that good just yet
ive been playing for jus about 2 years still learning sweeping and stuff
I understand but at the same time I was just thinking, why not go drop d and use a pitch shifter to open up some options? Floyd Rose would still work but you're not confined to the one tuning
im broke i got no pitch shifter lmao
i lit only got guitar, amp and a dist/overdrive pedal
ah, physical, okay
if u were on ampsims already that wouldnt be the issue
but with physical gear that makes it harder....
yea not just yet i need one of them physical pluggins
that´s not too bad, my thought was to just get the 14 day trial to NDSP Gojira or something. Got a pitch shifter integrated, trial period long enough to get familiar with it....
If you could put the guitar down D standard I would recommend something from Death
but if you´ve got no digital setup to begin with that idea is out the window
i could do symbolic
just play it in e instead cause this guitar is a pain even tho i love it
Or for example Voice of the soul
Very beautiful and not difficult song
I'm learningit now and I'll be performing it in 3 weeks.
Strange

I also have Floyd Rose and I put my guitar in F# lol
Below

Yep
god damn what gauge you got on it
But usually I play C# Standart
76 or something like that
Ernie ball Mammoth
im on 9s
love pop music
finally sorted the tone issue, turns out i had the sample rate way too high 🤦♀️
sounds beautiful now
Ghat definitely will do it
That sounds really depressing
Play some slam
My god... Someone actually has my "white whale" bass for sale at a decent price...

I recommend water colors for paint jobs
And use creayons for little details if you want
how much work do you wanna do?
cuz itll eat hours
it is a lot more work than you expect
cuz youll have to sand down the original finish, then primer it 2-3 layers, base coat it 3-4 layers and then clear coat it 2-3 layers sanding in between with something like 400 grit sandpaper
lots of drying
logic pro or studio one guys?
Same
I've been using one for a few years after using reaper, FL, logic and Cubase... By far my favorite for more instrumental work.
I'd rather try to make a song with a toaster and a fork then work with logic ever again.
I still dabble in FL for any heavy midi work just because I'm used to it
ok thanks, i have both i just dont know which one is better so ill take ur opinion
Studio one was designed by abunch of musicians and what not to perform and work in the mind of a musician.
Biggest thing is how straight forward stuff is.
If you have a plugin you want on a channel you just drag and drop it rather then messing around in drop down menus trying to find the plugin..
Are you making a guitar?
yeah i started making one like 1.5 year ago
but i stopped for a while
and now i have some time to work on that
Damn I want to make my own guitar too good luck with that✨
stole it from kiesel lol
already got some
I mean i got it for free cause my dad makes furniture
Well that's perfect
I do carpentry too lol but I wouldn't trust myself with that kind of work 💀
My hands are too crooked
But I think that one day I will try to make a guitar
I mostly work with metal 😆
Nice
Only wood I really work with is a wide variety of tool handles although will be building a shed from scratch in a few years.
(Cutting my own lumber kinda from scratch)
I regret that I went to study for this profession.
It's a great project
Fair enough, it's a good life skill at least working with wood knowing how to fix stuff makes life a lot cheaper as well
Still can't fix my relationships and bank account 😔
Go cut down a tree and just make birds and shit sell em like $10-$100 free materials turned into shit just takes time...
It's a great gig with leftover woods and stuff as well.
People will buy absolutely anything
I was joking
But in general I think I would try making custom guitars, but that requires experience
It's a fun gig can be hard to get into

Cool tuning
nice guitar ngl
That to haha
i think its a true temperment frets or sum like that
It ain’t it’s microtonal
Love sum microtonal
@balmy vortex this just arrived in the mail
Play dient on it
Oh god no
Hopefully that didn't happen in shipping
Well shit I just played a note and a string broke
Gonna be a bitch to fix this
Oh fuck me
The pickup was rebuilt in 97 as well
The fretboard is also falling off
Beautiful guitar 70+ years old but man not taken care of
Sad
Bringing it into the shop next week to start working on it and starting the diagnosis of all the issues besides my quick look over.
Will be a long repair
Eventually some of the riff
@lethal jewel when?
I LOVE PURPLE
And they’re not flame maple btw
This is a flames sparkle look a like called glitter storm
It's a pity it's not 8 strings or baritone
We can get them in those specs
Sick
Not cheap tho
Esp Stephen carpenter 8 single hum baritone in that finish will probably be close to 9k
Maybe a lil less
😭😭😭

cries student tears
laughs in having a custom guitar during student days
Skill issue
Well, never mind, I'll promote the band, become rich and popular and definitely buy it (I hope)
I'm thinking about buying a Jackson Soloist
Grab a concept series
Are they 8 strings?
Id rather make my own atp
2 times more expensive than Jackson Soloist💀
I don’t remember Jackson making a soloist 8 either
Is it bolt on?
I think so
So it's even better
Not necessarily
As long as it can get setup well, it’s fine
I was also thinking about Ibanez but I'm not sure yet.
Which is also one of the first thing a you’ll have to do or get done when you get the guitar
I have this one lol
Nice
I usually say grab a 7 tbh and change to some decent strings
But don’t go too thick cuz that’ll cause other problems
Yeah... That's how I ripped Floyd Rose out of my guitar.
But they replaced it under warranty and I didn’t use 76 gauge strings anymore.
Don’t use 76 gauge anyway
I definitely won't use it on a 6-string guitar anymore lol
But I still definitely want an 8-string guitar, I'm going to save up for it now
Or some huge 30 inch baritone
So that i can lower the guitar to drop C# standard an octave lower
Do not
Why?
But I'm already playing in this tuning 🤡
And how high is your gain?
Although most of the Songs I write in the E standard an octave lower
If it’s even past 11 o clock you’re mix is gonna sound muddy af
I can't say now, I'm not at the PC
Making anything in those tunings requires some extreme fine tuning of your mix and sound cuz it’s extremely easy to make it sound muddy
yeah def
you also need a very clear and tight tone
thats what i was gonna say
most modern metal tones are not high gain
Indeed
I love a tight not gainy tone
Used one when i was making my song
This is why i use a lot of presets from Mendel
I'll eat now and try it.
I only have gojira x rn
i will use it for live performances
love the transpose function
Dutch
Yes
It’s from the store I work for
It do
In Poland there are no such guitars in stores
I know
That’s why you order from me
this one looks mad good
Oh it is
looks very sweepy
100%
Can do
Stephen carpenter 8 original series in that finish
That’s to not make it expensive af

maybe one day🙏
or as i like to say.
Soon™️
i wish lol
no way i am making that much in near future
Cat
I already left the store
I imagine it's pretty well tuned considering the sounds are preprogrammed
Oh thought you bought it lol
Nah I was just fucking around at Target
Fair haha
target reinspired beyblade hobby for me💀
any tips on how to play this tab
Thats not a tab?
No that's called Sheet Music ✨
Gotta know the notes and where they are on the fretboard haha.
what note is this
Thats abunch of notes... Which one you talking about?
i don't even fucking know at this point man

is the bpm allowed to be recursive or is that just this song
Thats tempo and yes it can do that
ok is the time signature allowed to do that
255/255 is the same as 1/1
ok none of this explains the tempo being a sine equation
or pi being defined as 120bpm in the third measure of the first bar which is entirely rest beats at an increasing volume
The highest note there is an A FYI
i don't think my guitar is tuned to that
It can hit that
if you're certain
What you tuned to?
https://musescore.com/user/88929634/scores/21967489?share=copy_link
full disclosure there is a very small mistake in that two notes somewhere are a semitone flatter than intended + 1 bar is 2/4 instad of 1/4
here
have the whole thing
I sure as shit wouldn't attempt it on guitar but if you want to go ahead
what is a harpischord if not a big guitar
also what is a sousaphone i've been trying to figure that out since the first time i watched this
about an hour ago
Bruh
Harpsichord is like a piano
pianos are stringed instruments
Sousaphone is like a tuba most people get them confused because they don't know ass about instrument history
Yes
big
guitar
Nah
that explains why the first measure is crescendoing silence on a sousaphone i suppose
Sousaphone just straight up goes around the person used more in marching bands then anything nowadays but even then marching tubas are a thing
any of u tried the laney 212 frfr cab? im thinking of getting a frfr cab to pair with fm9
originally was gonna go for mesa 212 with poweramp but im not sure
Probably my favorite band that uses a sousaphone

🤤 , I want to eat guitar
do not the guitar
Some more ugly guitars few nice ones tho
As a fan of single cuts I love that WA-WARBIRD
Not a fan of those bursts though
I’ve always found them ugly
Just sold one of the MT-1 sits to Haniß from ECB
Go search on google for an ESP Original Series Eclipse Glitterstorm purple
Nice
We’re getting 10 signed units as well
This?
Sweeet
Now put a Floyd on it
Looks nice ngl, reminds me of my Jackson Monarkh
💀
It’s a very special sparkle tbh
Most guitar shapes I can live with but I’ve never hated a guitar shape more than this one

It was just to show how that glitter storm looks like lol
Yeah its a neat scheme I dig it
Same 🗣️
cant play this lick with economy picking i tried lol
Otherwise there’s also this
Looks like barbie puked on it
Whaaaa?
i mean the part with string skipping i kinda play like economy picking
shits hard
I have no idea how dean plays it live
Would it be redundant to get the literal same guitar that I already have in a different colour?
Cuz I have a Jackson Monarkh SC in purple burst but also like it in frost white
Sick
Ima be real I dont think something like that exists
Check out legator maybe?
