#ME 2 won't launch when any mod is applied

I am trying to install 2 mods (One probe all resources and Skip mini games), and I can't get either of them to work. When I do a fresh install of the game (through Steam), I can open Mod Manager and Start Game when everything is vanilla. As soon as I apply a single mod, the game crashes during launch. I get the ME2 splash screen, and then nothing. When I go to Steam and try to launch the LE Launcher (which starts successfully), trying to start ME2 just flashes back to the launcher.

Even when going into the Manage Target menu, and restore the mod, the game will not start. I have to restore the full backup before the game launches again.

The issue is the same with either mod, so I'm leaning towards the Mod Manager or something else with the game being the problem, and not either individual mod.

Please provide a game diagnostic too. Although, this mod manager one tells that you tried to install the one Probe mod with the game running once. But most worryingly, it says it cannot find the executables of any game. Also that you tried to do a backup in your call of duty folder...?

Uploading a game diagnostic or application log

Upload a diagnostic/log by going to the Help menu and selecting Logs & Diagnostics. Alternatively can also click this link: https://me3tweaks.com/modmanager/protocol/uploadlog

Select an application log (typically the latest), and the game target to run a diagnostic on if this an issue in the game.

When the log has been uploaded, post the LINK to the log here.

i believe this includes the game diagnostic: https://me3tweaks.com/modmanager/logservice/logviewer?logid=42daac647ff9c993ee497eda61a8696d

i did try to install once while i didn't realize the launcher was still active, but i've since then already done a removal/reinstall of the entire LE through Steam anyway.

I also saw the error about the COD folder, but i'm confused by that because i created a new folder for the back up when the Mod Manager first prompts to create them for all the games.

This game diagnostic has no mods installed in it, so it's impossible to tell what's wrong with the installation.

According to the log you're trying to launch the game without steam being opened. Otherwise, I don't see any other issues.

Have you tried installing any other mods?

I've tried with the Unofficial LE2 patch as well (by itself without the other mods), with the same results: https://me3tweaks.com/modmanager/logservice/logviewer?logid=8c3a8ce513315743debd8f413c0242c6

This is the only thing I keep seeing in the game crash logs, which i guess just points to the exe being what crashed, but i can't find any link between the same thing happening with all 3 mods.

Long shot but try starting Steam and the Ea app before running the game.

#

You can also try putting the ea app offline.

I would trust uninstalling the bink dll from the tools menu and see if it works. If it still doesn't, its not due to native

I'm out of ideas. I've started Steam and EA separately, had them offline, tried updating them. I updated my AMD software. I've tried checking and unchecking the Bink Bypass from Tools, I've tried re-downloading the Mod Manager and the mods, with no changes to the issue.I guess i'm just going to get through this game with very little resources, because nobody has time for that probe crap.

I can't confirm if this will work but you can try going back to Origin. Dunno how it'll affect EA Pass or whatever, as I don't have it.

You completely uninstall the EA App and THEN download this and follow the instructions. Since your on Steam, double read it as there's a separate option for Steam users in the installer.

I'm not installing the EA App until I absolutely need to or they implement Disabling Cloud Sync

still no change, but thanks for the idea
