but if we edited the wrong value, then suddenly 80% of the drills stopped existing

Theres a mod I don't think was around when you tried called deleteitems by gamerkulpher

Basically load the save, as soon as you get the trees, press F2

Which is hydroutilities menu

then use deleteitems to select resources, then say dirt (it doesn't matter)

then you can delete that specific resource (dirt) or another button that deletes the entire category (resources)

You can access this menu WHILE the game is still loading, you'll see dirt for example ramp up to thousands then you can just click delete

I've been using hydroutility and it seems like the mod (gamerkuipers?) uses the games engines built in values. Granted, they probably both end up using the same pointers. But I've come to trust hydroutility to help me fix things without breaking them.

If your going to start it back up, just turn off ALL the drills, then turn on one drill, then make sure it works, then turn on the others

The issue is the mods have a limit that "keep" gems over a set weight of 50, so none of the bigger gems were getting cleaned up

You were using the red hand sorters, those are not great and should be replaced with conveyor splitters ASAP (really, I just try to skip it entirely)

I have the "DeleteItems" mod. You might need to grab it from the Steam Workshop if it's not on the in-game list of mods.
It loads up just before the game does, so I was able to delete a few thousand iron ore as they were loading it, before they crashed the game.

A couple other notes:
A single intake pipe works great (in fact, three intake pipes work against each other). If you want to boost pressure, either grab a cloutium intake pipe (from Bridgepour store) or craft iron pressure boosters (made in the Icehelm forge)
You only need up to 5 filters (and check out the auto-repair system, an image somewhere around here...)
A rake from the bridgepour equipment store can help you clean up your mine quite a bit (so you don't have to crawl around that tiny hole, haha)
Check out the gem compressor (also at Bridgepour tools) to compress all those little gems into one big gem (one compressor for each gem type) to reduce that gem pit you have there.

Ah, it was this guy.
A splitter with nothing on it will split items 50/50 going forward/side. So it was dropping half of the dirt onto the ground.

Adding a valve here:
Try to turn it off if you won't be able to watch your game.
And replaced that splitter with a left conveyor:

The guys that made space engineers had the same issue ...it's steam and windows user poly settings that can cause this ...they changed the location and allowed a higher group policy setting to manage the files and file tree

If a file or folder is pointed at while in use then it can lead too a conflict were steam and windows already are accessing the file at the time it gets sent the command and data etc if so it brakes the user policy and is denied access under the same policy setting.

Then whatever you called your save should be in there, or you can create a new folder and drop the save files in there. The game will show you a save for whatever that folder was named.

By the way, I would encourage you to set up a single row of 5 auto repaired filters, and branch off with fully filtered water. Seems like you have a couple spots where the dirt jam could happen with your current setup.

And gem compressors can only handle 1 type of gem at a time.
(sorters push the item in the tray off to the side, not out the front)

There's your problem.
Splitters will split 50/50 when it doesn't have a resource. So you were getting a pretty bad mashup here.

I've deleted emeralds to load in, then used the "delete raw resources" to clean up stuff that wasn't in a sorter tray or gem compressor.
In general, try not to run drills/conveyors/etc while too far away. The physics of objects outside of render distance can freeze up.

You had some other random buildups here: (first image)
Side note: filters take damage whenever water flows through the pipe, so try to move your valve before your filter setup. (second and fourth image)
Funnels are kinda not worth it - they can cause clogs more than a straight drop. (third image)
I'm... scared of this pan, haha. I know there are hundreds if not thousands of gems inside it. Picking it up might crash your game. If it does, there's a simple deletegems mod that can get rid of those for you (just make sure to sell your big gems first)

I picked up the gem pan.
My computer is not happy, but I did it, haha.
Best to build some sorters right next to that pan instead of trying to walk it out.

I'd point out that you'll eventually get an unreasonable amount of lag from your Dreck setup. Try to keep the amount of time dirt/ore is on a conveyer to a bare minimum - set sorters right after a harvester, for instance.

Delete Cut Gems, Hydrouiltity++ delete all mod and

they all do things slightly differently which helps when the game trys to load too many things

The level.sav save above is just all the resources deleted, this includes cut items and things

Sadly this includes things like Gold Bars and such, so deleting the entire catagory is a bit overkill

There is an option in the settings

to not save raw resources and dirt chunks

so when it saves it wont save the raw resources and dirt chunks

You wont notice it while playing but when you join your save again you will see your belts will be empty

But yeah get your pressure booster running again because i only ran the machine for a few and started lagging because everything was still on the first 2 conveyors

Yeah it was all just becoming 1 big glob of resources on the conveyor and you wanna keep as less resources or things on the conveyor at the same time

the more at the same time the more lagg

the conveyors are probably the items that cause the most lags

the option to delete cut gems wasn't showing correctly, first time I pressed esc it didn't disappear, then it disappered when I pressed esc again, then once I pressed esc again it wouldn't re appear when in the esc menu

drop the .sav back into your save folder and replace the old one, then open your save like you normally would

and your magnet is up by the jeweler

You should say all the mods. If we fix saves without a mod, then any data related to the mod will be gone

been playing this save for a while, saved and loaded many times. while doing some fishing with about 50 fishing pots i noticed the fps start having issues. the fps kept bouncing between 90 and ~2 changing about every 2 secs. first i tried scrapping the pots to fix it but had no improvement so i decided to try reloading the world to fix the fps issue but the world has spent the last 20 minutes loading and still hasn't let me refocus the game yet. while loading the fps has been increasing at a fairly steady 30kb per second. it's up to about 7gb at the time of this message

doing a quick looking in the code, i see around 1000 fish and around 3000 ores/bars/misc
i think you had a spillage unrelated to your fishing

i can try to look but there is no fixer mod so the best i could do is pray and load
or i have to "dirty" the save and it disables achievements
