AIM has been a mediocre minion team for a very long time. To make it worse, their best character was taken away from them when they were at their lowest point. Here's my idea for an interesting AIM event to bring the team back.
Hero Vs Villain AIM
AIM Rework Team: Rework Graviton and Yelena Belova. Give Yelena a new costume based on her appearance after being repaired by AIM.
New Characters: Monica Rappaccini, Andrew Forson, and the Super-Adaptoid.
Monica and Andrew could summon MODOK in their ability animations, solving the issue of getting MODOK into the game without having to make him playable.
The big issue with status-effect teams is the prevalence of Safeguard+Immunity. The Super-Adaptoid could reduce the duration of positive effects, stealing every effect that was reduced.

Rework Sunspot and Squirrel Girl.
New Characters: Iron Patriot (Toni Ho), Pod-2, and Cannonball.
Sunspot and Cannonball can be used together outside of AIM to help other X-Men setups. (Plus, the inclusion of Toni Ho and Pod-2 fills the pride month quota)
