I had that issue earlier. I went to sell a pelt but my horse didn't have it. I went to a mission later and my horse somehow had an extra pelt on it than before.

Some people said it's internet speeds but tried it on 3 different home networks one where router was swappped aswell and on 4G home broadband, and the slowest of those speeds was a friends with 16-down and 3-up so it's definitely not speed related

you get treasure maps every 5 levels, the trader missions are reeeeeally easy and they pay ok... hunting and selling all the crap the the vendors is a lot of money, also killing a LOT of NPCs and looting all of them will make u a lot of coin

right now what i do is steal an NPC horse or just tame a wild one... then ride that one while your horse follows you... you can put a 3 star carcass on each horse, plus lasso one back to camp

There's a fix that used to completely remove all freezing and DCs, but they damn nerfed the fix somehow so it only partly helps now

also if u are having trouble getting 3 stars make sure you are using the right guns. it should be a one shot kill but the gun can't be too big for what u kill. i really only hunt deer and elk, etc. i use bolt action with a scope and get clean headshots. never lose any stars

each pack should have a 3 star usually... if only 1 and 2 then i skin those and stow them

they dont give as much material but who cares... u get meat and antlers n stuff

but dont give that stuff to cripps.. sell to butcher. not worth losing the cash for the amount of mats u get from them
