my online is like completely fucked and so is my friend's. upon the new drivers from nvidia my game runs at 20fps on all low settings instead of the prior 70 on medium. i reverted to the prior drivers and it didnt change anything.

i did a user benchmark test and my pc is running normally

I have no clue what to do, I tried verifying my game files, tried running in administrator installed dx12 again updated my drivers. installed on two separate SSD's. Not sure if anyone has posted. I had the error where I am able to launch into online mode, but when it finishes loading i get the crash saying it closed unexpectedly. Found a fix that may work for others.

I have disabled the Firewall and Virus scanner
I've checked I am up to date on my RTX 2080TI card and Windows & Chipset drivers.
I've tried a variety of launcher settings (disabling and re-enabling the various checkboxes)
I've set the game to run as administrator and disabled full-screen optimisations.
I believe I am up-to-date on the launcher version. My brother's version works and his launcher is the same.
And I've tried deleting the profile data from the launcher.

You have to either find all the items that are left, or discard the map

Not the treasure map, but the collectors

If you discard the collectors map you won’t be able to open it back up again and it will disappear, so I would just find the items first then open your treasure map

I verified and it didnt get rid of the 7002.1 but it then gave me an error regarding running the game in a compatibility mode (which I wasnt so it was confusing) went to check to make sure the i hadn't accidentally clicked that in .exe, found I hadn't, went back and it 7002.1 me again

then get your honor up and do all the main story missions

that should get you 200-300$ and enough gold to get started

rince and repeat until you have enough gold for the bounty hunters licensee (10)

Hey for those having the cursor issue using a controller on a PC. All I did was shutdown my PC THEN plug in my controller when I restarted the game the cursor issue was gone. Hope this helps someone else.

i finally got red dead 2 to get past crashing with "The Rockstar Games Launcher exited unexpectedly.." when hitting the play button on the launcher. followed all the normal "fixes" nvidiadriver/firewall/antivirus/adminmodes/compatibility/etc. after everything i just had to delete the red dead profile folder "C:\Users\username\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2" then following that install the latest cpu microcode for x570 chipsets on my computer from amd's site, followed by flashing my bios to the very latest release, i have an x570 gigabyte master. The chipset driver you need needs to match the chipset on your mobo. Then i can click play and have it load me into the game. i had already followed all the other steps and that didn't get me past the crashes... finally i can play red dead 2 tomorrow. spent 2hrs tuning gfx settings and running the benchmarks and got a good mix of max textures with med/low other settings that gets me to 111 fps avg in the benchmark. i have a 1080ti ftw3 and a ryzen 3900x which usually gets about the same fps as the 3600/9900k, for reference..

Here's a vid of me working through the gfx settings to get it looking as good as i can at 100fps, if anyone with similarish specs wants to know my settings.. I don't think I'm willing to further drop graphics settings. At 1:38:00 I'm going down the list of my final changes.

@calm chasm In most shooters i right click the game exe (so RDR2.exe), go to compatibility tab, click "change high dpi settings" button, then at the botton check the "override high dpi scaling behavior" then use the default selection of "application". That makes your mouse pretty much connect straight to the game and use game settings rather than going from your mouse to windows general mouse control to the game. it fixes countless mouse issues for me in fps games.. worth a try.

@charred birch I'll see if I can grab it next time it comes up .There are two codes, and it says that I've lost connection due to "rockstars server" issues or something. When I search the error code it comes up with something that was an issue in beta and had to be patched.

@robust lark I think there were things they could do with their settings connections to help it. A quick google recently found a reddit post where people seemed to think of you get this error and already have a gaming router you’re fooked. But if you don’t have a gaming router, they urge you to get one

Removing all devices with wifi on might help lessen but ultimately it sucks that you have to do that
