I finished the story of RDR2 a few days ago. What a journey, just incredible on that last half. But I digress, since then I've been playing RDO and it's hard to compare them.

What am I supposed to be doing for fun in RDO?

Other than just the grinding missions.

The PVP activities on PC are entirely dead, no queues ever pop.

Is there a free roam PVP thing that I'm missing? How do I locate trade packs to steal or something?

Am I just supposed to be enjoying the grind, and that's...what it is? It feels like I'm missing something.

To answer the 2nd question, you'll receive a notification of a Trading wagon in the area. It's up to you to steal it or let it go.

The missions are literally just grindy repetitive MMO-like tasks. Which is fine, but what am I even grinding for? For clothes? I guess to get ranks, to get more abilities. But....to do what with those abilities then?

I feel like I'm overlooking activities or something

PVP queues are COMPLETELY dead on PC. Never had one queue up actually. The only thing that pops sometimes is the "free roam activities" that everyone gets a notification about on the server. So Idk, it feels like there's not much to do atm.

To what end though? ....What activity am I "being a badass" in? The PVP queues are dead on pc completely. And as far as I can tell...the only in-world thing to do with other players (other than doing grindy missions) is trade pack stealing.

And I dont see trade packs often. I've yet to ever steal one from a player.

I've only been playing for like 15-20hrs though.

@empty lark the cores are there to represent how fast you regenerate your life, stamina and dead eye bars. A nearly depleted core will regen your bars slowly while a full or boosted core will allow faster regeneration.

then follow the map

start a couple stranger missions or bounties and you'll get an empty lobby eventually

you get the dude to cook moonshine then you deliver it. You can improve profits by lowering the cost of the cooking materials by running missions first

even if you don't plan to main moonshiner, the unlocks you get from it can be useful. Even more material storage for example lets you hold like 30 raw meats when combined with the material storage upgrade from another role

Well starting from scratch, on PS4 so I get trading for free

all roles also have good unlocks with them

trading though, camp up near deer. deer are just goldmines of turn-in value.

roanoke ridge near brandwine falls is good, west of blackwater in great plains is great. whitetail buck are the best. If you have a horse one, you can drag one unskinned carcass with you to turn in.

Collecting is nice if you have the time. I did every set but wildflowers while watching The Witcher. 3800+ cash, went from level 97, 2000xp in, to 4035xp into level 100.

and then you can invite them in the game to your posse

and be carfeul not to abandon your posse if its a persistent one, i wasted my 1 time freebie

Yep there is usually a train every 5 minutes, but not when it's a daily. I got lucky and heard one last night. If I find one this morning I'll drive it around and blow the whistle. So people can use it. haha

Sometimes I think if the camp is too close to the moonshine shack it causes issues. But I had issues with it a long way away as well. Last 2 days for me has been no hang ups at all with moonshiner role, It seems to me when I stay in the same session it works. If I have a disconnect between starting a batch and delivering I get most of the issues.

Nah, me and my horse spontaneously blew up the second I got on it and then when I respawned a girl teleported right next to me and lassoed me. I just left before they were able to hogtie me

I had my wagon blown up on a supply run, which wasn't so bad. Then I got on my horse and we got thrown into the sky and both died then I went to the stable to get my horse back and the hacker filled the stable with bears. lol

Three and two stars I hand in to Cripps, others I pluck for the flight feathers for fire arrows and other special arrows.
