So yeah, never doing a long range trade run again solo. Was intercepted by a posse of four people, they lit my wagon on fire and then spawn camped me as I tried to recover the one bag that fell out. (Could not parley, since I was on a trade run.)

They finally lost interest in repeatedly killing me after about ten minutes, so I grabbed my bag and high tailed it to the destination, where another posse of 3-4 people was waiting for me. Both posses opened fire with zero provocation.

Second posse got my bag eventually and turned it in. I delayed things by killing the bag runner a few times, but eventually they had three people covering my respawns while one ran the bag.

I should note I'm a new trader, so that was a small wagon with 25 product that caused all the fuss. Am I correct in that local deliveries don't put you on the map for every asshat to take a shot at?

@lone mica yeah, trade runs can be rough like that and i really recomend you groupup with people for it, get some bodyguards in #pc-lfg or whichever platform applicable. rockstar hasnt made it easy to do things solo, nor do they warn you that it comes at great risk. but atleast you got a (painful and expensive) lesson.

the game is far more enjoyable when you play with someone else anyway

the respawn mechanics tends to favour the ones doing the trade run so if you set up a large posse with 7 people, you should be fine. plus you get the added benefit of meeting new friends and to join in on their trade runs aswell, which will net you both money and exp. its absolutely worth it

There are <620940375464607775> honorable story missions as well as dishonorable missions.

You can kill NPCs @ Thieves Landing, if you want to lose honor without gaining outlaw/wanted status.

Free Roam missions also give some gold .

After trying a LOT with default lasso lassoing a dead carcass and bringing it all the way to camp - and couldn't do it - after upgrading to Trader lasso I did it almost instantly. Hmm:

I heard Vulkan is more stable than DirectX.
nVidia also released a game ready driver for Halo Reach, so you should install it (in case it has more fixes for RDR2/RDO).
Try changing all settings to "low"/"off" except for textures ("ultra") and water ("medium").

Eh kinda late - sorry forgot to go back after asking that -

but about Nvidia drivers.. I don't have it but AFAIK the very last drivers are having a lot of issues with most people I've talked to (believe me I'm always after the g game issues around) and that the best so far is to keep at the 441.12

Also, if you're having any perf issues out of sudden since last patch please take a look at #pc-technical-stuff there are good info here that may be helpful to you. I'd suggest particularly looking into your Realtek drivers. 7 out of 7 people solved their issues with that - as unlikely as it sounds.
