well i see your point but i dont think i agree. can only speak for myself, but when a developer has a long history of making and releasing games, you expect a certain standard to be met, and you also expect improvements on release to release, a certain progression of quality. a player's expectations should naturally increase from release to release, but quite often they are not met, and even more often the quality is reduced. whether it be quality of content, quantity of content or technical aspects, mostly these days its just graphical / eye candy update but everything else stays the same old bullshit that we had to weather for all them years.

now rockstar isnt the biggest shitter in this department, but there's a lot of tencent owned (as an example) publishers out there that are just whipping their devs on a daily basis and the result is creamy crap with shiny ribbons. of fucking course we are upset with the state of things. we are slowly realizing that we are nothing but wallet-skinned piggies, being farmed by greedy super corporations. noone is happy with that
