Horses: a Black Arabian, a Missouri Fox Trotter, a Turkoman, and/or a Criollo (the ones you unlock at Collector Rank 20)
Saddle: The Nacogdoches saddle with the Collector saddle bags (don't buy anything else)
Ability cards: Paint It Black, Never Without One, Iron Lung, and Fool Me Once (you can buy/use other cards depending on your playstyle)
Hunting & Fishing: A fishing pole, special lures, a pocket watch, binoculars, and 99 gun oil
Provisions and tonics: all of the above (you can buy them or loot them; your call)
Clothes: clothing suitable for both hot and cold weather (outfits for average weather are unacceptable)
Emotes: none of the above (unless you have money/gold to waste, that is)

I used to fish next to valentine in river, dont remember the name of river, but there u can catch medium size fishes, which do make a nice buks for starters and you can carry 10 each, there are two medium kind fishes in that river, one is salmon and the other one dun remember lol done it so long ago

For big animals u can use bolt action rifle, with scope shoot the neck or head will count as clean kill

In dakota river can get them medium fishes

Sell skins to the butcher, feathers from birds too. Keep the meats for cooking. as cooked meat will help keep your cores full

As far as guns go.. start with a revolver, a rifle and a shot gun. Which is pretty normal

Also, horse bonding is a thing too.

I wouldn't expect jobs to pay out much either.. some as lost as 4.80 or so bucks

@small lark just saying, your money will go to tools needed for the roles. Delivery wagons, hunting wagon, metal detector, reinforced lasso, until you have all the tools you really dont have extra cash.

Look at GTA Online.

I have the feeling that was the point of trader. It's the only role where you can take a break from actively doing something and still generate output.
For me, after grinding Collector and forcing myself to Bountyhunter level 20 trader ist like vacation.

You can do all of them and for efficiency you should. Certain activities work really well together. Like Hunting for Trader while Riding to a bounty, or collect while hunting.

but you can't do a delivery for trader during a bounty mission, if you are asking that. You can do a bounty mission and hand in carcasses or find collectibles and get xp for both.

In case they introduce the Outlaw Pass for PC as well, spend your gold on it first and max it out. --> lots of stuff, money and you'll get all your gold back.
They roles won't run away, the pass will run out.

If R* was smart about their marketing to PC players, they would make it clear the pre-ordering RDR2 would give faster access to the outlaw pass which expires two weeks after RDR2 comes-out.

I wasted to much money on bounty hunting stuff that isn’t even really fun if your a solo player. Atm I’m looking more for camp upgrades and trying to figure out how to hunt better so I stop running out of stuff for cripps

@marsh dirge you can’t max out the collector in a day. Even the professional guys on YouTube who played almost non stop after the update dropped it took them a few days to max out each one. When you do a bounty for example you don’t get much in gold, less than .33 gold bars usually

Just get the collector role, DONT BUY HER MAPS, use the interactive map, if you collect just the run off stuff from thieves landing to blackwater a few days in a row or so and you’ll have enough to sell for 200-300 and will be closer to getting the metal detector

Exactly, I’m still at level 4 and I’ve had it since the day after it came out. I enjoy it but it can be glitchy and without the metal detector it’s hard asf.

I have been raided twice, you get a notification upper left corner, and an option to go to camp =teleport. Its just a few npcs carrying your goods away

Wanted lvl is nothing, you just pay it off when you want, never brought me into big trouble, apart from story mode

And if you get bad reputation then kill animals and skin em, which will get you resourcefull and that will grant you good reputation

If you're not using Paint It Black, you'll have to compensate for bloom (the white circle outside the dot), and you need to wait for that to get smaller as well.
