@knotty arrow Ability cards shouldn't have existed in the first place. RDR1 never had them, and (IMO) RDR2 shouldn't have had them either.

The #1 reason why PvP is so unbalanced and shitty is because players use Auto Aim and/or Dead Eye to get headshots, which are 1 hit kills.

#

Slippery Bastard prevents enemy players from locking on to you, but you cannot lock on to them either. In addition, Dead Eye will drain at a higher rate than usual.

From a R* developer's perspective, Slippery Bastard was originally meant to be a defensive ability card. It sounds good on paper, but when it came to actual gameplay, Slippery Bastards were countered by people using Paint It Black.

#

However, since there are freeaimers and tryhards using Slippery Bastard in an aggressive way, PIB players have some difficulty fighting back...to a certain extent.

If a PIB player can't freeaim (by marking targets with X's), then they will get rekt by Slippery Bastards. If they can (like myself for example), then they could stand a chance...but once again, to a certain extent.

#

If a Slippery Bastard closes the distance on you with a shotgun, you're gonna die.
If you keep your distance, you'll be fine.

@manic python A nice solution would be to make the law op and make the punishments for getting killed/captured by the law really expensive. That would make shootouts with the law more fun for those who aren't griefing and would make griefers have nightmares about the law.

PVP is fine, but in towns it shouldn't be as prevalent. If you wanna shoot somebody in the middle of the forest, be my guest, but shooting people while they're just leaving a store. It gets annoying.

Do something that will benefit you instead of just being a dick and killing people for absolutely no reason. I enjoy the pvp in the game, but I always have to be in defensive whenever I go into towns. That shouldn't be how the game works.

The reason this game has had such a sharp decline in playerbase is because of people obsessed with the PVP in free roam. People just don't enjoy that. That's why I'm saying there should be a better law system in place.

What will that solve? It will get rid of people who are actually good at PVP and don't grief, but it will keep the players who are shit at PVP and do grief in the lock on lobbies.

Most greifers I've found are all new and low level people so anyone that used to be one will end up coming back to do it more
