You can definitely wait them out, if they don’t trigger immediately you just have to stay away from the actual hide out and do other activities in the vicinity like hunt/skin/craft/visit camp/gather herbs etc etc

The amount of other player around negatively affects the amount of hide outs I can trigger for sure

Imma try something. I was playing "more than one way to earn a buck" and I realised I could pick up the soldier's weapons. My idea is to pick them up, finish the mission and as the end cutscene plays you quit the game. That might get you the weapons permanently. Found another good spot for farming some hideouts if that area of the map is empty instead of just New Austin! Cumberland Forest has 3 in a relatively small area, plus a bandit ambushes you. The hideouts seem to rotate 1 in morning 1 in afternoon 1 in evening with the ambush somewhere in between. Didn’t get to test it out for long tho, as soon as even 1 pinky was in the zone they weren’t triggering every ingame day anymore sadly :<

Whereas if I start freeroam in Lemoyne the New Austin area turns into a no mans land pretty consistently 😂

Takes a lot longer to travel around in cinematic mode in New Austin tho and at some point the riding around gets too tedious to do manually 🤠
