You're right it's a port but it's no emulator either..I would say it's the most demanding game out there right now so you gotta give it some credits for sweating all those 2080Ti cards.

@rain wave I didn't see a performance hit either, in fact my frame rate increased by 1-3 by maxing out the quality bar and toning down my settings to what they were. (This corrects the settings.xml by increasing any of the hidden settings that these last patches have set to low).

True, I guess it comes also from the fact higher resolutions will scream bad/low quality graphics if they're low. On lower resolutions + some "tricks"(i.e. Motion Blur) you can make the game look pretty good with no need for such resource hogs. In the end what matters is if the game is pretty and well playable (meaning at least 30fps), Rockstar seems to have made a wonderful job on consoles, from what I hear from you and around.

Yep, even on consoles it beats every PC game graphically, except for the PC version of RDR2 i guess. My game pretty much looks like what the Xbox One X version looks like. New additions like long shadows really aren't noticeable

use cheatengine, slowly go down one level at a time on your beard length, enter those values and by two or three levels you'll have the correct memory location
then you can max it out
this game tends to have three memory locations for things like this so don't get discouraged if you cant get down to a single one
just edit all three

statistically speaking this probably means a large # of players are still experiencing problems on PC and can't play the game
which means the Vulkan issue I was experiencing might be more widespread than I thought..
also it transcends platform, I experience it on RGL and my buddy has started experiencing it on EGS
and deleting 'sga' files doesn't work
referring to this error when using Vulkan that results in a hard crash
switching to DX12 solves the issue but causes performance to take a slight hit (big hit for me) to performance
